I keep telling myself the emo slut (who I got into bed with yesterday and tried unsuccessfully for three hours to coerce into letting me screw her as we watched shitty comedy-romance movies while I was half-naked) only denied me because she likes guys with girly/emo hairstyles, has low self-esteem and, thus, is afraid of doing anything with a guy who has a job and a manly, virulent hairy chest framed by defined, muscular limbs that scream "genetically superior to that ninety-pound piece of shit you broke up with but continue to screw around with".

He's alive and well. He's taken up piano since his retirement and also enjoys playing the stock market. "Now's the time to buy!" His son is on CSI. RAY: The other thing I wanted to tell you is that I had some college kids call me at 9 o’clock one night. They were having a party at their dorm, and they said, “Is this Mr. Menard?” And I said, “Well, yeah, this is Ray Szmanda.” And they said, “Will you say it for us?”
Well I could hear the noise in the background – the music and the clinking of the glasses – and I said, “Save big money at Menards!” They said, “Far out,” and that was the end of the conversation.

A friend of mine owns a TC1100 and swears by it. I've used it casually, and it seems decent as tablets go. You have to be careful with the screen, and it has a short battery life. It's more a specialized laptop than an appliance, and actually has an attachable laptop keyboard (though my friend uses a wireless keyboard/mouse for it). I'd bet that the price in 2003 was a good deal more than 500 bucks.

Retarded girl too retarded to realize she was hired to make fun of retards:Yes, I know, insensitive, K-Stat has a family history of being retarded, etc...

http://artsbeat.blogs.nytimes.com/2010/02/18/family-guy-voice-actor-says-palin-does-not-have-a-sense-of-humor/?no_interstitial

Since it was shown on Sunday, an episode of the Fox animated comedy “Family Guy” (http://tv.nytimes.com/show/155473/Family-Guy/overview) has drawn the repeated condemnation of Sarah Palin (http://topics.nytimes.com/top/reference/timestopics/people/p/sarah_palin/index.html), the former Republican governor of Alaska and 2008 vice-presidential nominee.
In the episode (http://artsbeat.blogs.nytimes.com/2010/02/16/palin-family-says-family-guy-writers-are-heartless-jerks/), the teenage character Chris dates a girl named Ellen, who has Down syndrome, and who tells him over dinner that her mother is “the former governor of Alaska.” Ms. Palin, whose son Trig also has Down syndrome, has said (http://artsbeat.blogs.nytimes.com/2010/02/17/on-oreilly-factor-palin-says-family-guy-gag-really-isnt-funny/) that the “Family Guy” show “really isn’t funny” and was the work of “cruel, cold-hearted people.” Ms. Palin’s daughter Bristol has written (http://www.facebook.com/notes.php?id=24718773587) that the “Family Guy” writers were “mocking my brother and my family,” and called them “heartless jerks.”
One person who supports the “Family Guy” staff is Andrea Fay Friedman, the 39-year-old actor and public speaker who played Ellen in that episode. Like the character, Ms. Friedman also has Down syndrome.
In an e-mail message sent on Thursday to The New York Times, Ms. Friedman wrote:
I guess former Governor Palin does not have a sense of humor. I thought the line “I am the daughter of the former governor of Alaska” was very funny. I think the word is “sarcasm.”
In my family we think laughing is good. My parents raised me to have a sense of humor and to live a normal life.
Ms. Friedman also spoke by phone with ArtsBeat about her “Family Guy” episode and the controversy that followed. These are excerpts from that conversation.
Q.
How did you start out as an actor?
A.
Before I did “Family Guy,” I started studying at the Santa Monica Playhouse when I was 14, and then I also studied at the Stagecoach. And then I did more acting at Santa Monica College. My biggest break was “Life Goes On,” when I was 21.
Q.
How were you hired to do this episode of “Family Guy”?
A.
“Family Guy” talked to my dad first, before I knew about “Family Guy,” because I never watched it. But since I’m watching it, it’s really funny. They told me I was going to be animated, they were going to draw me, and I did not have to know the lines by memory. I just had to read it. It was really funny. I enjoyed it. I had a nice time doing it.
Q.
Did they specifically tell you that the character you were going to play also had Down syndrome?
A.
Yeah, they told me I was playing Ellen, who was Miss Bossy. I didn’t want to be bossy, but since they want me to be bossy, I just had to be as the character. I had to be bossy, as part of my process. That’s the only way to transform the real me to an animated person. So I had to do what an actor does. I just wing it and have fun with it.
Q.
When you get asked to play characters who have Down syndrome, does that make you at all uncomfortable?
A.
No, I’m proud of it. I’m not embarrassed. But mostly, it doesn’t matter if you have Down syndrome. Really, it just matters to have a different challenge.
Q.
When did you find out about the reaction that the episode elicited from Sarah Palin and her family?
A.
[laughs] That I did not even know about until my mom told me, “You’re on Channel 4!” And when I watched on Channel 4, on “Extra,” and I saw Sarah Palin with her son Trig. I’m like, “I’m not Trig. This is my life.” I was making fun of Sarah Palin, but not her son.
Q.
Do you agree with what she and her daughter Bristol were saying, that the character and the jokes were insulting to people with Down syndrome?
A.
It’s not really an insult. I was doing my role, I’m an actor. I’m entitled to say something. It was really funny. I was laughing at it. I had a nice time doing voiceover. It was my first time doing a voiceover, and I had fun.
Q.
Do you know what other acting roles you’ve got coming up?
A.
That I don’t know. [laughs] No one asked me yet. I’m still waiting. My dad gets the calls, and he tells me about it. I’d like to go back on “Saving Grace,” that’s my favorite show.
Q.
What do you do when you’re not acting?
A.
I work at a law firm, I’ve been here for 20 years. I’ve spoken all over the world, India and Japan. Dad taught me some Japanese. I like spending time with family and friends, go bowling and skiing, going to birthday parties.
Q.
You’ve got a big birthday coming up yourself. How are you bracing yourself for the big 4-0?
A.
Eh, it’s a big step. It’s a milestone. Might as well just leap for it.

It's shit like that, and because of how much I know about PCs that I'd never trust a PC from a foreign group in my house that I hadn't built from the ground up, at least from a format C standpoint. Whoever decided that was a good idea should probably be facing some jail time.

The only way I can relate is we have IP phones at work (the same ones on The Office woohoo), and when I work from home I'm always weirded out by this alien device in my home and on my network. Since I help set them up and have access to all the server-side things I'm not so worried, but it's still weird just knowing it's there.

I'm actually going to back up Ledezma on this one. The show itself is a little silly, but if you want to see lots of sex, boobies (including lots of Lawless's boobies) and lots of badass Gladiator fights, this show is pretty sweet. 75% of last week's show took place during an orgy. A reasonably hot chick came to me in the K-Mart parking lot asking for change so she could get her car towed. I hear "change" so I'm thinking she wants 50 cents so she can make a call on a pay phone. She makes me feel old by showing me her cell phone in a "like, DUH!" kind of fashion. When I ask her what she means by "change", she's looking for 30-40 bucks so she can pay for the tow truck that's already coming. I resisted the urge to say "blow for dough, baby?". In hindsight, I should have seen how far she'd go for money, just for kicks. I still need more insensitivity training.

And, like he was reading my mind, Chuck Lorre's vanity card on Big Bang Theory is about feeling old...

I wonder if this soon-to-be-unemployed teacher was really being sarcastic. Every time I think stripper teachers, that Van Halen song becomes my mental soundtrack.

This year, high school teacher. Next year, stripper and egg donor?

When students asked an Enochs High School English teacher this week what she'd do if she lost her job to budget cuts, she said she'd have to become a stripper and sell her reproductive eggs to pay the bills.

Though it was a sarcastic comment, some parents are not taking it so lightly. As the retort was relayed to parents, one unsympathetic douchebag of a mother thought it was inappropriate and complained to Enochs High officials.

The teacher was one of 40 at Enochs and 370 at all Modesto City Schools who received layoff notices this week — and her story illustrates the devastation and stress educators are under as districts across the state slash their bottom lines, teachers and officials said.

"It was her way of defusing a tense situation" with sarcasm, said Janeen Zambo, an Enochs history teacher and the site representative with the Modesto Teachers Association. "We're all human beings; occasionally there are things we say that aren't our most stellar moments."

Reading is fundamental.

"The parallelogram design keeps the table in close proximity to the cutterhead for improved finish and allows for a fast depth of cut adjustment. This design ensures the table remains perfectly parallel, even after years of tough duty"

The Firefox extension "Load Tabs Progressively" is really nice. Basically, what it does is limit the # of tabs your Firefox attempts to load at once. So, if I select 10-20+ links to open all at once (a common thing for me), it'll only chew at 'em 3-at-a-time by default. It avoids Firefox trying to do too much and sucking up resources all at once and tying up other tabs needlessly.

Why would you open 10-20 links at once? Like if you did a search and wanted to read all the results type of a thing?

For one thing, I use another extension called "Snap Links" which allows me to draw a lasso around all of the links I want to load up and they open up as background tabs. When I go through the forums here, I typically open up tabs for each new thread all at once by drawing a lasso around all the "Go to first new post" links. It's rare that I'll have less than 20 or 30 tabs up at once, and I'll often have 50-60+ open (or in some cases, openING).

So I was getting shit ready for the CPA for taxes and looked at what I spent on RE commissions last year. Then we looked at what I spent on RE C's in the last 5 years. I decided to get my RE license active again. Problem is that I haven't done this and that so they said I'd have to start over. No biggie.

But buying RE, either building on it and selling it or rehabing them and selling them or something, cost money. So If I can cut into what I spend on commissions by percent or percent and half, would be a good thing.

I like being insulated with a RE Agent when selling, but would also like to save that dough or not spend it.

The body of a man was found at the top of a TV tower in Oak Park, with no obvious causes of death. T&P to whoever his family is. If you're a big fan of crazy Japanese murder-mystery RPGs (http://www.giantbomb.com/shin-megami-tensei-persona-4/61-21373/), well, this case takes on a different tone. Pray the coming rain does not bring any fog with it...

Cert. test 4 of 5 has been passed. This was the most difficult one so far.

On to the capstone!

There's another certification that I'll be getting later, but I'll take a month or two off.

APICS Certification in Production and Inventory Management.

The next one I'll pursue will be APICS Certified Supply Chain Professional.

I was in the house when I heard this screeching outside my back door. It sounded like a baby or something in tremendous pain. I went out there and a hawk had caught this other bird. I wanted to help the bird that was being eaten alive, but thought I'd let the food chain work. It was really fucked up. But the hawk prolly had little ones that needed to be fed. Food chain sucks sometimes.

I had something like that 7-8 years ago. I had some minor damage along the side of the house near my roof that took me 2-3 weeks to fix owing to the weather being nasty. During that time, a mama bird built a nest and there were eggs in the basket. I knew that if I moved the nest, I was basically killing the babies, but I didn't want a bird's nest in that dumb hole on my roof. So, I moved the nest, and got to watch and listen as these eggs (which were just about to hatch, as it turns out) got killed off.

I was in Brussels for a few days. It rained, and rained, and rained some more.
I didn't really get to see much of anything because it was absolutely miserable.
I took the chunnel to London, and the weather was perfect.
