anyway the argument over relating to movies cracks me up, i've had the same discussion with hip hop fans about rap music for a long time. Guys won't want to listen to rappers like MF Doom or Brotha Lynch Hung because they're too outside the box from the typical gangsta rap shit, they'll argue that it's too 'phony'. Snoop, Jay-Z, 50 cent ETC market music as being "real" to a bunch of people who never have (or ever will) experience that "reality". People don't want real, they want to be fed a bullshit fantasy that seems attainable in the real world even though it isn't.

Anyways all artforms whether music, movies, pictures or whatever are outlets for creative expression. If you lack imagination and cannot put yourself in situations outside of your own than naturally you will not enjoy them. However art must continue to be art, and artists must be creative in their work. The only thing that's really a boundary in art is the imagination of the artist, not reality. If you want reality and something you know can relate to, then go sit on your porch (it gets no more real then that).

So you only watch movies about teenage boys who watch pistons games and post on message boards? That must be a pretty limited selection.

The point of movies is that people can experience something (not directly) that they probably never would otherwise. Not to watch something you already know. I doubt many war vets watch "When we were soldiers" or something like that. They want to forget that stuff. Movies are for people to see how things might be if they were in that position. Sortof living that life. A good movie makes it feel real to you. It doesn't have to be real in itself.

That's what is so great about LOTR, the Matrix, etc. They really make it seem real. Many of those movies are far fetched, but the symbolism is quite real. Either you are completely missing the symbolism, or you are too thrown off by the fantasy part of them that you have no chance to see it.

Heartburn blows. I have been diagnosed with acid reflux and it sucks. basically the acid in your stomach burns the bottom of your esophagus. caused by spicy food or stress (in my case). prilosec really helps a lot with it.

I don't get when the media/sportscasters use historical data that is obviously irrelevant to the matchup at hand. They then try and make some kind of logical correllation about how that stat might effect the outcome of the game.

No shit. The most irrelevant stat. They use it on the Pistons all the time. For some reason, since Literial Green, Ben Coleman, Lue Roe, and Charles Smith couldn't get it done against Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen, there's no chance this year's Pistons can win in Chicago, etc. etc. etc.

To add to that, why sportscaster must repeat the same information over and over and over and over again.

Example:

I work out in the morning before work, so I usually get there before the parking lot is filled. When I'm done and come out, the parking lot is more filled, but still not packed. Every morning I will come out and someone (9 out of 10 times it's an Asian lady) will be driving around waiting for one of the close parking spots that I'm in, instead of parking 100 feet further away.

I came out this morning, and someone (an Asian lady) was sitting in the middle of the row IN PARK waiting for someone to come out so she could have his/her spot! How fucking lazy is that? The worst part is, she was parked right behind my car while two other cars came around waiting for my spot. They didn't realize until at least a minute later that I couldn't get out without their lazy asses parked there! Not only that, but when I finally got out, the three women started fighting about who gets the spot!


These are the same bitches who go inside, put 10 lbs on the ab-crunch, walk on the tredmill for 5 minutes and go home. Hooray for intelligence and dedication!

It's popular because it says "Name" has "#" friends. So people will try to get as many friends as possible so they will have a big number. Then they list their top 8 friends right below that. That becomes a big deal who is in your top 8. You want to get in other top 8's. It's not a good sign for you when you have somebody in your top 8, but you aren't in there top 8. For a real general number which obviously differs between cheese types and methods, it takes about 5 quarts of milk to make 2 pounds of cheese. So its not a true 5 oz of milk in the cheese, but it takes about 5 oz to make a slice in Kraft's process since you lose the whey.

Well, it wouldn't occur to me to pay the same amount for 4 oz. of Chef Boy-R-Dee as 12 oz either, but the trend to portion and convenience is all the rage as food/beverage manufacturers have long ago run out new ideas to differentiate their products and have reduced themselves (excuse the pun) to marketing size over merchandise.

that's what I am saying. You get charged after a certain amount of debit transactions...let's say 15. So why would you ever press debit? Every store asks me as debit or credit. Why? So I can pay extra for my transactions? no thanks. I use my pin to withdraw money, that's it (at the bank or as cash back at the grociery store in the self check out). There is no need for that button or question at places you cannot withdraw money. I don't remember Gap giving me a cash back option, so why are you asking me credit or debit?

When I was 17 I was broke and needed gas in the car. I had $2 in quarters. I put the $2 bucks in, then the bitch said she wouldnt take change. I told her it was illegal to not accept american currency (plus it was freakin quarters, not pennies or anything). We screamed for a while and I left without paying which was, against my will. The next day (it had been late at night) I called the district manager, got the charges dropped for a gas n go, and received two $100 gift cards for their station. Bitch got fired too.
