View Full Version : What's on TV tonight?
Glenn 06-27-2007, 03:49 PM No Tigers, NBA Draft tomorrow, I don't give a fuck about reality shows or series that I need to know characters, backstory, etc.
Looking for some mindless entertainment.
What'cha got?
cheerios + wife's nipples. Go.
Glenn 06-27-2007, 04:33 PM ^ I don't have any idea what that means.
Fuck it, I'll just watch the Jim Gaffigan DVD again.
Uncle Mxy 06-27-2007, 05:14 PM Cat Stevens (by any other name) is on PBS (Detroit WTVS Channel 56) at 8pm.
WTFchris 06-28-2007, 08:27 AM I watched Law and Order for about 30 minutes, then played Warcraft 3 most of the night. Kicked ass and took names.
It means
inventive sex + fighting heart disease > tv.
Glenn 06-28-2007, 09:51 AM But I don't like Cheerios.
DrRay11 06-28-2007, 09:57 AM You could have went with Apple Cinnamon Cheerios, or straight up Apple Jacks.
Dude it doesn't even matter! The point of the game is to get her to writhe enough to propel the cheerios high enough to catch them in your mouth. Even if you get them high enough, you never catch those little bastards.
Glenn 06-28-2007, 10:23 AM Eh, we watched "Deal or No Deal" instead.
Some guy from Trinidad was on there screaming about being a Dwyane Wade fan. If he won the million $, he was going to buy MIAMI HEAT SEASON TICKETS!!! *applause*
The Wiggles were there too, it was pretty nice.
Howie Mandell > sex
Sorry man, I just disagree.
Glenn 06-28-2007, 10:32 AM You are or have been married, right?
Did you have sex 365 nights a year?
Not with Cheerios, unfortunately.
Glenn 06-28-2007, 10:35 AM Howie wins!
My wife informed me that he's like a germophobic or something, he doesn't shake hands with anyone, ever.
That's why he does all of those fist bumps with the contestants.
I bet your wife would prefer my fist "bump".
Uncle Mxy 06-28-2007, 11:28 AM I was vaguely watching a documentary called Nobelity -- upchuckings from 9 Nobel Prize winners about the great problems of the day. This inspired me to re-read a cool old independent comic book collection of Nexus, best described here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nexus_%28comics%29
and not pay all that much attention to the documentary (or the Cat Stevens special I mentioned earlier, which was more a documentary than a concert).
No sex was involved, alas.
Tahoe 08-20-2007, 09:41 PM The Hills
darkobetterthanmelo 08-20-2007, 11:41 PM have eyes?
Glenn 08-23-2007, 02:05 PM No Tigers tonight.
Anybody got anything?
Big Swami 08-23-2007, 02:58 PM Scrubs reruns. Dr. Cox's wife is hot.
MoTown 08-23-2007, 03:04 PM Scrubs is a sweet ass show.
Big Swami 08-23-2007, 03:32 PM Scrubs is a sweet ass show.
Scrubs is the only show I can think of where the main character is the least likable of all the characters, and is in fact a total douche. Everyone else is a thousand times funnier than he is.
Glenn 08-23-2007, 03:34 PM What about The Magic Hour?
Timone 09-22-2007, 10:59 PM Saving Private Ryan's on TNT.
Zekyl 09-25-2007, 02:15 PM House, new season starts tonight at 9 on Fox
Uncle Mxy 09-25-2007, 06:52 PM Mark Cuban will be Dancing With The Stars - 8pm on ABC.
D's Nuts 09-25-2007, 07:59 PM Did anyone watch Chuck last night?
I gave it a try just based on the hot chicks from the commercials (they did not disappoint) and it actually seems like a cool show. Hopefully it wont get cancelled after like 4 episodes.
Tahoe 10-23-2007, 07:49 PM I couldn't find the 'whats on tv tonight thread'
Anyone have any sports they can clue me in on?
I don't have the NHL package and hockey isn't real big here in Sacramento.
Tahoe 10-23-2007, 07:52 PM World friggin Series starts tomorrow, and a game on Thurs too...and BC has a game Thurs.
MoTown 10-23-2007, 09:15 PM What am I supposed to do tonight? Nothing on TV on Tuesday, anyway.
Timone 10-23-2007, 09:17 PM Looks like a video game night for me.
Glenn 10-25-2007, 04:54 PM suck my fuck
I guess it's college football
defrocked 10-25-2007, 05:56 PM Anyone ever check out The First 48? More or less real-life Law & Order. Good stuff. Thursdays at 9 pm on A&E.
Vinny 10-25-2007, 05:58 PM Always Sunny's on FX.
Glenn 10-25-2007, 06:12 PM Forgot about the WS, I thought there would be an off day in between.
Zip Goshboots 10-25-2007, 06:17 PM Anyone give any thought to some gay porn?
geerussell 10-25-2007, 06:29 PM Anyone give any thought to some Grey's Anatomy?
Fixed.
WTFchris 10-25-2007, 06:31 PM suck my fuck
I guess it's college football
Thursday night is the best night of TV (non-sports of course).
Earl and The Office are on.
Sometimes I watch the new Law and Order
Can't go wrong with those.
Plus soon you'll have the NBA on TNT/TBS.
And yes, the WS is on again. Tomorrow is an off day before the Sa/Su back to back in Denver (not sure if they play Monday too).
Zip Goshboots 10-25-2007, 06:33 PM Fucked. Seriously, if you are a dude and you watch Grey's Anatomy, you are one small step from wanting to run out and invest all your life savings in gay porn
Now, this motherfucker is fixed.
WTFchris 10-25-2007, 06:41 PM Good call. I've only watched it once, but to me it was simply a soap opera/ER hybrid...and ER is already half soap opera anyway. I'm not really a fan of scrubs, but at least that has some humor in it.
Trust me, the Office is way better. Especially if you work in an office environment. Earl was awesome last year, but the prison angle isn't clicking with me right now. hopefully they stop that soon and get back to the funny shit.
Uncle Mxy 10-25-2007, 06:47 PM I admit that if I click by Grey's Anatomy and Katherine Heigl is looking hot, I'll stay until the scene changes.
Uncle Mxy 10-25-2007, 07:19 PM Anyone give any thought to some gay porn?
Zip Goshboots is apparently a gay porn star on Comedy Central, and here's the proof:
http://www.newshounds.us/images/ssGibsonreadyandwilling.jpg
Zekyl 10-25-2007, 07:59 PM Anyone give any thought to some Grey's Anatomy?
Fixed.
I didn't know you changed anything.....
Zip Goshboots 10-25-2007, 08:06 PM ZOUNDS! I've been found out!
Well, actually, there's no proof that the guy in the picture is about to make gay porn.
No Sunday night football? WTF
Uncle Mxy 10-28-2007, 09:44 PM I watched Silence of the Bees:
http://www.pbs.org/wnet/nature/bees/
Timone 10-28-2007, 10:28 PM Old School was on TBS, but I just woke up so I probably missed it.
Nvm, it's still on.
Tahoe 10-28-2007, 11:03 PM Those space guys are still walking (floating, if you ask me) around up there.
This morning the guy was going to take some pictures with his helmet cam out there in space, but his memory card was full. No shit. So they had him go back to the some place about 5 minutes away out there in space to get a different camera. He finally made it back with the camera but that camera didn't work. So they said they'd try again tomorrow.
Prolly close to a million bucks by the time we get those pictures.
But thats on TV.
I'm sure ScanDisk (http://www.sandisk.com/Products/Catalog%281140%29-Multiuse_Cards.aspx) will make that a commercial soon.
Timone 11-06-2007, 11:11 PM Just got through watching The Contender. Great fight to close it out...
Glenn 11-30-2007, 04:32 PM No Pistons again tonight. :emo kid:
I'm thinking about watching Fahrenheit 9/11 again if nothing else looks good.
Big Swami 11-30-2007, 04:49 PM No Pistons again tonight. :emo kid:
For some reason the Cavs game just got me so amped up that I have to see more. I'm going through roundie withdrawals.
geerussell 01-04-2008, 01:15 AM So I'm cruising the program guide and there's a reality show called "Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders" with its implied promise of T&A. Smokin hot chicks being told they're fat, stupid and can't dance.
It was pretty amusing... for about 5 minutes.
Uncle Mxy 01-04-2008, 07:19 AM I had Celebrity Apprentice on intermittently.
Gene Simmons is Darth Vader, and most of the rest just annoy me.
DrRay11 01-04-2008, 10:18 AM I despise Reality TV...
Pistons on tonight! fuckyeah
Timone 01-04-2008, 10:25 AM Only "reality TV" I like (shamefully) is Flavor of Love and all those spinoffs.
Pistons on tonight! heck yeah!
Timone 01-04-2008, 05:12 PM No Pistons again tonight. :emo kid:
Um, they play the Raptors tonight AND the Celtics tomorrow.
Big Swami 01-04-2008, 05:13 PM Um, they play the Raptors tonight AND the Celtics tomorrow.
11-30-2007, 04:32 PM
Timone 01-04-2008, 05:14 PM I know. I was trying to be funny.
Glenn 01-04-2008, 08:12 PM I know. I was trying to be funny.
Extremely focused, at that.
Timone 01-04-2008, 08:13 PM Let me try that one again.
I was extremely focused in trying to be funny.
D's Nuts 01-07-2008, 11:24 AM Did anyone catch American Gladiators last night?
I loved that show growing up and even in college my roommates and would watch reruns.
I might be in the minority here but I loved it last night. Same basic premise with some interesting new events. Plus the Gladiator chicks are WAY hotter than 15 years ago. Hogan sucks at announcing and it seems like the competitors are fed lines but its still great. This got added to my Season Pass on TIVO 10 minutes into the first episode.
MoTown 01-07-2008, 11:28 AM I enjoyed it, but they need to go back to the original theme song. They can remake it, but that song made the show.
The chick competitors were awful, however. It's not that hard to run the eliminator without crying.
D's Nuts 01-07-2008, 12:10 PM Haha, the chick that fell down like 5 times and was hanging onto the top of the ramp was BRUTAL. Talk about an epic collapse. The best part is that shes a "Life Coach" and failed miserably. Good luck dealing with that for the rest of your life.
Also Im glad that jackoff lost in the 2nd show who tried like 15 years ago or whatever. He was a cocky bitch and glad he got put in his place.
MoTown 01-07-2008, 01:55 PM By a tiny little Asian, nonetheless...
[/Russell Crowe accent]
I thought it kinda sucked compared to the old shows. The old eps just had the competitions, and the new one had all sorts of storyline and stupid comments and fake drama. Pretty much the norm for TV now so I wasn't surprised... I'll just stick with the reruns on ESPC.
D's Nuts 01-07-2008, 04:48 PM Yeah I agree that it sucked compared to the originals but you have to take it for what it is. Its like 15 years since the original aired and things are a lot different.
Like I mentioned before, its over produced, horrible announcing, jacked up athletes........ basically it sounds just like MLB.
Zekyl 01-08-2008, 05:52 PM Did someone say Steroids? I swear I just heard someone say Steroids.
D's Nuts 01-09-2008, 01:38 PM I merely alluded to it, didn't say the actual word. I'm afraid of being named in the next congressional report.
Glenn 01-09-2008, 02:32 PM I never knowingly posted about steroids. NEVER. (shaking finger)
WTFchris 01-09-2008, 02:34 PM But you have used the cream while posting I've heard.
Wizzle 01-09-2008, 02:40 PM I've had B-12 shot in my ass but that's only when I need to type in all caps or post an image, and everybody does that......right?
Timone 01-09-2008, 02:42 PM I've got "stuff" on Zekyl.
Zekyl 01-09-2008, 02:47 PM I swear, I thought they were just vitamins. You've got nothing on me. I'll sue for defamation of character!
Timone 01-09-2008, 02:50 PM I'm considering a countersuit.
Zekyl 01-09-2008, 02:53 PM Yeah, but I'll get all the ESPN coverage on my side.
Glenn 01-16-2008, 04:57 PM Is there anything better than Bulls/Heat?
I hope so.
Timone 01-16-2008, 05:42 PM ^ That won't be as bad as Zekyl getting the Cleveland Indians in games 5-7 and the Ohio State Buckeyes two straight years in the National Championship game treatment.
Zekyl 01-16-2008, 06:31 PM I love that OSU made the NC two straight years, only because they got stomped and it shuts up my friends that are OSU fans for a little while.
MoTown 01-28-2008, 03:55 PM Well?
It's been a rough day - what the hell is on TV tonight?
Zekyl 01-29-2008, 11:29 AM Find anything good MoTown?
Timone 01-29-2008, 12:28 PM Pistons on tonight, which could either be a good thing or a bad thing.
Vinny 01-29-2008, 12:30 PM Lost starts back Thursday. Anyone else still watch? I hate that I watch it but I do. Don't even like it so much anymore but feel strangely compelled.
Glenn 01-29-2008, 12:30 PM Pistons on tonight, which could either be a good thing or a bad thing.
If their defense shows up...
MoTown 01-29-2008, 01:41 PM Find anything good MoTown?
Not a damn thing. So I painted my house instead.
I guess I have you guys to thank for having my bathroom painted.
Zekyl 01-29-2008, 01:48 PM House is back on tonight. I'm excited.
Timone 01-29-2008, 01:56 PM UH, GUYS...PISSTONS!
Uncle Mxy 01-29-2008, 02:21 PM Fee fi fo fum
I smell the blood
of Indiana dumb
MoTown 01-29-2008, 02:36 PM UH, GUYS...PISSTONS!
Who are these Pistons that you keep referring to?
Glenn 01-29-2008, 02:41 PM Who are these Pistons that you keep referring to?
Perhaps if there was some sort of, thread, that one could post thoughts about a specific game in, officially.
D's Nuts 02-01-2008, 12:40 PM Anyone catch LOST last night?
WTFchris 02-01-2008, 01:26 PM Anyone catch LOST last night?
YES!
No
Timone 02-01-2008, 01:39 PM I don't watch it either.
D's Nuts 02-01-2008, 04:13 PM Holy crap, what is wrong with you people!!!!!!
Vinny 02-01-2008, 04:59 PM I saw it, thought it was kind of boring.
Also, it's probably about the only show on TV right now that's not reality what with the writers strike and all.
Wilfredo Ledezma 02-02-2008, 09:20 AM I've only watched LOST like once, isn't their a character on the show who was one of the hobbits on Lord of the Rings?
Timone 02-13-2008, 05:34 PM Not tonight, BUT!
DINOSAURS: RETURN TO LIFE? premiers on Discovery Channel February 17th 9 pm EST - Ever since Jurassic Park, we?ve dreamed of recreating dinosaurs. But the science behind this fantasy seemed impossible -- until now. Remarkable genetic advances are revealing that the DNA of dinosaurs and birds are extremely similar. And scientists are uncovering ancient dinosaur traits in birds? DNA like teeth and long dinosaur tails. Advances in genetic engineering are moving so fast that famed paleontologist Jack Horner believes within our lifetime it will be possible to retro-engineer a dinosaur-like creature from a bird. In Dinosaurs: Return to Life, learn why the dream of recreating the dinosaurs is coming closer to reality..."
WOO! HIGH FIVE!
...anybody?
Zekyl 02-13-2008, 05:34 PM *High Five*
Didn't want to leave you hangin.
Timone 02-13-2008, 05:39 PM *pulls hand away, slips it through his hair and struts off ala Ric Flair, before he high fives Zekyl*
GOD DAMN THAT WAS FUCKING SMOOTH.
Zekyl 02-13-2008, 05:52 PM I feel so abused around here.
Timone 02-13-2008, 05:56 PM That's because you PM me and talk about megalodons and shit. Geek.
jk
THEY'RE NOT COMING BACK ZEKYL, THEY HAVE BEEN GONE AND WILL FOREVER BE GONE. :(...I MEAN
Zekyl 02-13-2008, 06:02 PM Who's the one that brought that up in a PM? Do I have to post your PMs like you did to me?
Timone 02-13-2008, 06:11 PM Do you want to take this to Congress?
Wilfredo Ledezma 02-14-2008, 04:57 PM Is The Office coming back on soon??? My dad told me the writers strike was over or something, so when's the season going to continue??
Glenn 02-14-2008, 07:29 PM Anybody got anything for tonight?
Timone 02-14-2008, 07:32 PM TNT:
Heat-Bulls (yuck)
Mavs-Suns
Discovery Channel's special on dinosaurs isn't until Sunday. Sorry Glenn. :(
Timone 02-14-2008, 07:45 PM Abominable on Sci Fi. About some guy who sees a Bigfoot like creature or some shit. Probably sucks but I love anything Bigfoot!
Timone 02-14-2008, 07:50 PM Ha, this stupid motherfucker just went in Bigfoot's cave.
Timone 02-14-2008, 07:52 PM Skeletons everywhere and this dumbass keeps investigating.
So he finds this chick pleading for help. He says he's going to go get help and she's crying, wanting him to not leave her.
LOL, she just got pulled away.
Timone 02-14-2008, 07:54 PM Bigfoot's picking them off one by one now. This is fucking awesome.
There's one guy left.
"Ok, you smelly son of a bitch!"
"I'm leaving now! Let's forget this ever happened!"
"AHHH!!"
Timone 02-14-2008, 08:04 PM lol, this movie is terrible. But I like it!
Timone 02-14-2008, 08:09 PM Bigfoot just snatched a naked chick and pulled her out through the window. Bad ass.
Timone 02-14-2008, 08:25 PM lol, worst fucking movie ever. No wonder why I don't like/watch Sci Fi. Shitty.
DrRay11 02-14-2008, 10:15 PM I watch Sci-Fi for brief comedic relief for a period of about 10 minutes, then switch it back to something else.
Glenn 02-18-2008, 04:48 PM Anybody, yo?
Timone 02-18-2008, 04:50 PM http://www.meevee.com
Timone 02-18-2008, 04:53 PM Dodgeball at 6, Alien vs. Predator at 10:30...both on FX. I'll probably only watch Dodgeball though, because movies like Alien vs. Predator don't interest me.
Big Swami 02-18-2008, 05:35 PM I'm working all the damn time, I don't have time for any of this TV nonsense like you bunch of fat, ridiculous man-children.
That being said, Futurama.
WE HAVE SEEN TOO MANY BODY BAGS...AND BALL SACKS.
Timone 02-18-2008, 05:37 PM I'm working all the damn time, I don't have time for any of this TV nonsense like you bunch of fat, ridiculous man-children.
I'm not fat. :(
Glenn 02-19-2008, 03:15 PM Pistons/Magic?
MoTown 02-19-2008, 04:06 PM Pistons/Magic?
OGT or it didn't happen.
Glenn 02-19-2008, 04:07 PM I'm actually going to miss the game tonight because of a work function.
:emo kid:
MoTown 02-19-2008, 04:09 PM Me too.
Uncle Mxy 02-23-2008, 12:18 PM I've been missing everything since the all-star break due to work and travel. I fell asleep to some Millionaire Matchmaker crap, which was the last thing I had on because I said "she's cute", then the matchmaker bitch came on and she reminded me of my mother and I tuned her (and the world) out.
DrRay11 03-13-2008, 08:03 PM Anything? I am bored as fuck.
RegicideGreg 03-13-2008, 08:53 PM ditto e-ray
Uncle Mxy 03-13-2008, 10:48 PM I've been listening/sortakinda watching folk music on PBS, thinking about the mockumentary A Mighty Wind, and am in awe of just how scary-accurate it is.
Glenn 03-14-2008, 05:26 AM Glengarry Glen Ross was on in HD last night.
The brass balls in HD?
Fucking awesome.

Timone 04-05-2008, 11:58 PM I'm about to watch Clueless on TBS. Seriously.
Tahoe 04-06-2008, 12:01 AM If its the one I'm thinking about, I've watched it and its kind of funny in spots.
Timone 04-06-2008, 12:03 AM I'm only watching for one reason.

Glenn 04-06-2008, 06:29 AM Dashalicious.
DrRay11 04-06-2008, 10:40 AM Watched "Revolver."

MoTown 04-29-2008, 10:51 PM Zekyl is now on my grammar radar. Any mistake you will make, I will find it.
Zekyl 04-30-2008, 07:14 AM I make plenty.
Timone 04-30-2008, 08:07 AM Right now I'm watching the "I'm so excited, I'm so scared!" episode of Saved by the Bell on TBS.

Easily my favorite new website of the last few months. I've spent many lunch hours glued to the computer swatting kids away because they think I'm watching TV.

As a proud owner of the DVD set, buy it.
Firefly is most awesome!
Glenn 06-04-2008, 04:52 PM Anybody got anything?
I'm finding that I'm much more productive around the house since the Pistons were eliminated, but I feel the itch to relax this evening.
MoTown 06-04-2008, 04:56 PM If you can't enjoy a Stanley Cup Final game, Glenn, you're dead to me.
WTFchris 06-04-2008, 05:21 PM Glenn is a bunch of punks. I'm watching Nick hoist the cup and Hank getting the Conn Smyth.
Wilfredo Ledezma 06-04-2008, 07:28 PM Last night, I saw some show on Spike, it was called 1000 Ways To Die...kind of disturbing if you watch it religiously, but for a random watch, it's entertaining...
I wish Deadliest Catch was on twice a week
DrRay11 06-04-2008, 07:35 PM I can't stand Deadliest catch...

I got into the first couple seasons but then it just seemed to go nowhere. I missed probably the last 1.5, so if you get that far, let me know if they're worth checking out.
Glenn 07-24-2008, 04:53 PM Anybody got anything for tonight?
Timone 07-24-2008, 07:04 PM On Travel right now, Mysteries of the Smithsonian.
Vinny 07-24-2008, 07:21 PM I swear to God, I look through the guide sometimes and think I'm dreaming because some of this shit's gotta be fake. "Greatest American Dog"? Get the fuck out of here.
My Cousin Vinny's on AMC (different Vinny, no relation), that's probably your best bet.
Glenn 07-24-2008, 07:47 PM As tempting as that is, I guess I'll go with Olbermann and then Abrams.
Timone 07-24-2008, 07:49 PM I guess I'll go with Olbermann and then Abrams.
not very tempting

I actually have a cousin named Vinny Barbarino (if anyone knows what the reference is)
Vinny 07-25-2008, 07:00 PM Yeah, that's not me either.
MOLA1 07-25-2008, 08:00 PM Check out our Karate Studio, "Malota's Martial Arts" on Fox 2 with
Lila Lazarus at 10. My dad is Peter Malota, who they did the story
on and if you're wondering what I look like, I'm the tall dude. Peep it.
Timone 07-25-2008, 10:04 PM The Sandlot, HBO Family.
I usually avoid anything baseball related after shit like this, but I haven't seen this in a while.
Timone 07-25-2008, 10:06 PM WTF? Rookie of the Year is on too?
Aw fuck me.
Wizzle 07-30-2008, 04:23 PM Generation Kill on HBO has been worth while so far
geerussell 09-11-2008, 02:23 PM Anyone else catch the pilot for Fringe the other day? If you like twilight zone/X-files type stuff, this was pretty good.

DrRay11 11-10-2008, 11:20 PM I recently got into "Lost." That is the best TV show I've ever followed, I highly recommend it. You can watch every episode for free on ABC.com as well. Now that I've finished all of that and it won't be on again until January, I'm looking for something new to get into. Heroes, perhaps.
MoTown 11-11-2008, 08:49 AM I love Lost. It gets slow from time to time, but it's still very smart and addicting. I wouldn't touch Heroes, though. The first season was very good, but it's lost its way since then.
DrRay11 11-11-2008, 12:57 PM Yeah, I've heard that. I have a feeling no matter what show I watch next it won't match how Lost hooked me.
Vinny 11-11-2008, 01:20 PM I love Lost too, I think I'm going to start re-watching them all to get ready for January.
Check out HBO's the Wire if you haven't yet, it absolutely blew me away. The depth and the characterization spread across the 5 seasons is amazing.
Uncle Mxy 11-17-2008, 11:14 AM Legend Of The Seeker is turning out to be decent in a brainless sorta way.

Tahoe 12-01-2008, 07:13 PM My brother
Tahoe 12-02-2008, 09:25 PM ^ Did an ok job lastnight.
Vinny 12-02-2008, 11:36 PM Your brother is Sage Rosenfels?
Timone 12-12-2008, 11:10 PM Watching The Crow right now. I guess MTV is good for something every now and then.
Glenn 12-15-2008, 03:13 PM No Pistons until Wednesday, so whatup?
WTFchris 12-15-2008, 03:25 PM Wings Avs on versus tonight!
Uncle Mxy 12-15-2008, 05:09 PM No Pistons until Wednesday, so whatup?
We're talkin' about practice.
Glenn 12-15-2008, 05:10 PM Anybody watch that Charles Manson program on MSNBC last night?
I wish there was a "Cult Channel", that shit rules.
Timone 12-15-2008, 05:12 PM Anybody watch that Charles Manson program on MSNBC last night?
I wish there was a "Cult Channel", that shit rules.
MTV should air an Unplugged special or something. Say what you want about him as a person, but his music isn't that bad. Look At Your Game, Girl is seriously one of my favorite songs ever.
Wilfredo Ledezma 12-16-2008, 08:15 PM It's probably on again later tonight on Encore, but this morning I watched the Christopher Reeve version of 'Rear Window'. And what a disgrace to Hitchcock's greatest classic.
They butchered the plot. Spotty acting. Ugh.
Hitchcock would've killed himself had he seen his work get defaced.
Tahoe 01-11-2009, 10:37 PM Season P of 24

MoTown 01-12-2009, 09:29 AM Season P of 24
The wife and I are going to watch our first series together.
I thought last night was good. After a very bad season six, I'm excited to see how they get things moving with an extra year of planning for season seven.
Tahoe 01-12-2009, 09:51 AM We really like it so far. They had a show in December that was good and it's on again tonight.
This is the first time we've watched it so we can't compare it to other seasons.
MoTown 01-12-2009, 09:57 AM Well in that case let me catch you up to speed:
Jack Bauer is more badass than Chuck Norris. That's all you need to know.
You should catch up on the seasons. They're addicting as hell. Just make sure you have time to watch them - because if you watch one episode, chances are you'll watch 10. Make a weekend out of watching one season.
Season 1 - Amazing
Season 2 - Good
Season 3 - Good
Season 4 - Okay
Season 5 - Great
Season 6 - Pretty bad
Season 7 - Good start
Tahoe 01-12-2009, 10:06 AM I don't feel like I'm missing anything even though this is my first season. I'm sure it would help though.
I agree on the addicting part...The wife goes to be early, but like last night, she can't stop watching.
Glenn 01-12-2009, 04:33 PM Anybody got anything?
Tahoe 01-12-2009, 04:35 PM Ah hem...24 SP part 2.
Glenn 01-12-2009, 04:35 PM Anybody else?
Tahoe 01-12-2009, 04:36 PM 24 SP part 2
MoTown 01-12-2009, 04:39 PM Maybe you should sit down and enjoy yourself some 24, Glenn.
Glenn 01-12-2009, 04:40 PM I don't do series'. Lack of attention span and consistent viewing time.
Tahoe 01-12-2009, 04:41 PM TIVO
I don't do series'. Lack of attention span and consistent viewing time.
Isn't a series even better than a movie if you have attention span problems?
Glenn 01-12-2009, 04:44 PM I don't really do movies either.
It's pretty much just sports.
Fair enough. Wings game on tonight Glenn.
Tahoe 01-12-2009, 04:45 PM This is definately a first for me. But being newly married, I thought I'd give it a try. So far, so good.
MoTown 01-12-2009, 04:50 PM I don't really do movies either.
It's pretty much just sports.
It's funny, I love sports, but I have trouble watching some games because of non-stop commercials. I find myself changing the channel for a while when the Pistons play for a minute, take a time out, play for another minute, TV timeout, play for 30 seconds, opponent takes a timeout.
Some days I just don't have the attention span for it, especially if I'm just not in the mood.
Glenn 01-12-2009, 04:51 PM I'm usually juggling about 3 other things while I watch a game, but I like the fact that I can walk away for 10 minutes and jump right back in.
I don't have the luxury of digging in for uninterrputed tv, the homelife is quite hectic.
Glenn 01-12-2009, 04:52 PM I do enjoy those one hour shows on cults, casinos and the mafia on MSNBC, A&E, Bravo, etc.
Tahoe 01-12-2009, 04:53 PM 211 ^ Its frustrating as hell for me too. Especially (insert the age card here) when I was growing up, there were prolly half the commercials there are today.
At least with Baseball you know you are going to get a half of inning without interruption unless theres a pitching change and Hockey isnt bad either.
Wilfredo Ledezma 01-12-2009, 05:01 PM brand new Man Vs. Wild tonight...
I know it's fake, but I still like it. I can't stand Survivorman, even though he's legit.
Zip Goshboots 01-12-2009, 05:58 PM This is definately a first for me. But being newly married, I thought I'd give it a try. So far, so good.
Haven't you been living together for like 24 years?
Vinny 01-12-2009, 06:47 PM Don't you guys just DVR the sports? It's great. You just start watching half an hour late, zip through the timeouts and get caught up just in time for the last 15 minutes or so, when it starts to get interesting.
Tahoe 01-12-2009, 07:35 PM Haven't you been living in sin together for like 24 years?
Something like that.
WTFchris 01-12-2009, 07:36 PM brand new Man Vs. Wild tonight...

Like I'll watch that with 24 and the Red Wings on national TV tonight...
Timone 01-12-2009, 10:42 PM I've watched 24 a grand total of 0 times.

WTFchris 01-13-2009, 01:15 PM Like it or not, you'd have to give the creator props for being inventive. Most of the shows today are stupid reality shows that have no imagination. The whole concept of a season long show that only lasts 24 hours is pretty crafty. I have to think when the creator pitched this to people they were like WTF, that will never work.
Tahoe 01-13-2009, 01:40 PM I watched it 3 times now. The kickoff in Dec and the 2 part SP.
It's a really good show, imo, and like I've said a million times now, something to watch with the wife.

Tahoe 01-13-2009, 08:06 PM At least I have a wife.
Timone 01-13-2009, 08:07 PM Those are fighting words -- almost.
No, for real though, that is a serious slap in the face. A total insult. What are you going to say next, "at least I get to sleep on the couch"?
Tahoe 01-13-2009, 08:10 PM So you're saying they're shoving words?
Timone 01-13-2009, 08:11 PM Shoving words, eye gouging words, hair pulling words. Whatever kind of words you want them to be, buddy.
I'll be returning to California soon. Rest assured we will settle this.
You play pool, right?

Theres a pool room at this one titty bar downtown Sac.
Unbunch your panties bitches.
Watched Scrubs, halfass though. But I have it on DVR for when we aren't doing extensive baby-proofing.
Uncle Mxy 01-13-2009, 11:46 PM When not watching the game, I was watching a little bit of Homeland Security USA. It's Cops for DHS, minus the cool theme song.
Timone 01-14-2009, 01:32 AM I've watched Scrubs a grand total of 0 times.
Tahoe 01-19-2009, 09:40 PM Jack Frickin Bauer is on in an hour and some...
24 diotimo
MoTown 01-19-2009, 11:02 PM House and 24 on back to back. That's like having Kobe and LeBron on the same team.
Check that. Fuck LeBron.
Vinny 01-20-2009, 01:51 AM Rescue Me on DVDs. This show's great if you haven't seen it before. It can be painful to watch sometimes though, Dennis Leary's character just crashes and burns, and just when you think he's hit rock bottom, he falls down some more.
Uncle Mxy 01-20-2009, 11:16 AM I'm watching anything NOT having to do with the inauguration. I'm sure all of the highlights will be played ad nauseum, and available on YouTube for eons to come. I know someone who's seeing it live, even.
Maury and Steve Wilkos are coming up soon...

WTFchris 01-22-2009, 12:13 PM Never watched the show for more than a few minutes (so pardon my ignorance).
How can the show Lost still be on? Haven't they been found yet?
I don't get Prison Break that way either (only seen one episode). What happens when they break out? What's left to show?
I'm not saying either show is bad (don't watch them). I'm more looking for an answer.
RegicideGreg 01-22-2009, 12:47 PM I'm pretty sure they are canceling Prison Break after this season for just that reason Chris.
Glenn 01-22-2009, 12:55 PM Hey, Gilligan's Island had staying power, didn't it?
D's Nuts 01-22-2009, 02:13 PM How can the show Lost still be on? Haven't they been found yet?
I don't get Prison Break that way either (only seen one episode). What happens when they break out? What's left to show?
I'll handle this fella's:
The time line of LOST has been 4 seasons but in show time has been only like 4/5 months.....ah fuck it. Chris if you are interested, check out lostpedia.com
As for Prison Break, I was a faithful watcher from the beginning but this season has been ludicrously stupid. I am glad they are finally canceling it although I will miss Dr. Tancredi immensely.
WTFchris 01-22-2009, 02:22 PM My sister in law watches lost. She said some were rescued and some not. That's what didn't make sense to me. Why wouldn't the rescued people just tell everyone where the rest of them are?
WTF?:
Season 1:
A plane crash strands the surviving passengers of Oceanic Flight 815 on a seemingly deserted tropical island, forcing the group of strangers to work together to stay alive. Their survival is threatened by mysterious entities including polar bears
Season 5:
the season "is about why [the people who have left the island] need to get back"
DrRay11 01-22-2009, 03:50 PM That's the catch, wtf. Deserted tropical island with polar bears. Just how?
Wizzle 01-22-2009, 03:55 PM lol......LOST noobs
there is no way possible to explain that show, you just have to watch it from the beginning and it may or may not be for you

Yup, some got off the island, some did not. You have 4 seasons to watch to figure out why.
