I am above the "flood line" in Dearborn, so the house has flood insurance. Once you get close to the Rouge or the creeks that flow into the Rouge, you can't get flood insurance. If you live downriver, it's pretty much impossible. Lots of houses just south of us are built on a slab.

We got 2 inches of snow one day so far in Denver. (knock on wood). It's mostly been 50-60 and sunny for the last month. The mountains just got 1-3 feet which kicks ass for skiing. Went golfing in shorts about a week and a half ago.

So two days ago it snowed, then yesterday it rained and all the snow was gone, now its like none of it ever happened and its in the upper 30's.

The report doesn't surprise me. That storm rolled through Denver a couple days ago and dropped 2 inches in an hour. But that's all it dropped because we're in a rain shadow (the mountains got 1-3 feet). They probably thought it would pick up enough moisture from lake michigan to drop a lot of snow.
