Glenn 06-06-2008, 03:49 PM lots of rain and possible tornadoes no volcanoes as far as I can tell Tahoe 06-06-2008, 04:15 PM ^ I expected this post from the west siders yesterday. lotsa red over there yesterday. There wasn't even a tornado in this area... Big Swami 06-08-2008, 09:29 PM Saw a guy on Carlysle St. in Dearborn got his pickup smashed when about half a large tree broke off and fell on it. He didn't look like he was home. He's gonna be bummed out. UxKa 06-08-2008, 10:00 PM Just had a werid weather experience. There's a storm rolling in so I took my dog out. When I was out with him I could see the clouds way in the distance, but couldn't hear thunder yet. It was still as can be. I wasn't inside two minutes before a windburst hit us. I ran outside to grab a garbage can and literally had to fight my way inside the wind was so bad. 20 seconds later it was calm, and I'm still waiting for the storm. Wilfredo Ledezma 06-08-2008, 10:09 PM my brother left the sun roof on his fiero open for the entire storm... own3d Uncle Mxy 06-08-2008, 11:28 PM Ha! Two friends called me within 10 minutes of each other. The first friend wanted to borrow my chainsaw because he had a big-ass tree branch collapse due to the storm. Another (husband+wife) needed a place to stay because they were out of power due to the storm. I told 'em to bring their chainsaw and meet me at the first friend's place. :) Glenn 06-09-2008, 05:24 AM Fiero. lol Wizzle 06-16-2008, 04:53 PM What is the difference between isolated and scattered thunderstorms? UxKa 09-13-2008, 11:57 PM While I'm not in Michigan, judging by the radar I've gotten the same shit just a few hours earlier. These last two days have been rediculous. Finally stopped an hour or two ago but damn. Humid as shit too. I leave my cigs on the back porch and all day I can feel they are damp just from the humidity. I can't ever remember that happening. Big Swami 09-14-2008, 03:02 AM This was the first day I can think of that our wooden floors were actually sticky with humidity. Not as if I had tons of stuff to do outside but it sucks anyway. Uncle Mxy 09-15-2008, 12:04 PM Ua6V1cSS9Kg Glenn 09-15-2008, 12:26 PM Mxy doesn't lose. Except when it comes to posting YT videos. Fool 09-15-2008, 12:29 PM I have a huge Willow tree in my front yard that stands about ten or so feet higher than my two story house. The main trunk of the tree splits off into two trunks about half way up and the branches spread to cover half my yard (which is two lots wide), my driveway, and some branches near the top of the tree get close to the front of my roof. This weekend one of those two trunks broke about halfway up and portions of the tree landed on my roof. One branch, about four feet long, split off from the tree on both sides (so it had pointed edges on both sides), sliced like a spear through my roof and right through the ceiling of my daughter's bedroom and was lying against her bed. Another branch appears to have crashed through the roof and the ceiling of the same room but apparently rolled off the roof as it wasn't in the room. A large portion of the trunk of the tree was lying right where I typically park my car and would have went right through my car's roof without a doubt. Happily we weren't home when this happened. Mother nature don't play. Glenn 09-15-2008, 12:37 PM Sounds like a close call. We've got huge old trees all around our house. We've only had two come down so far. Luckily (not only did it miss hitting anything) the biggest one was right on the property line, so the neighbors spilt the cost with us to have it cleaned up ($500+). I've got a couple of them that I'm keeping my eye on. If it wasn't so damn expensive, I'd have a few of them removed just to be safe. I did have my new (at the time) chain link fence damaged pretty badly a few years ago, too. Homeowners insurance is a joke on that shit too, unless the repairs are super expensive (like yours sound, Fool). I had them tell me that, yeah, they'll pay for it, but I'd probably give it right back in premium increases. Parts of this post are poorly worded, I'm struggling today, sorry. gusman 09-15-2008, 01:05 PM little chilly today, starting to feel more and more like fall Uncle Mxy 09-15-2008, 01:52 PM Except when it comes to posting YT videos. It was intended as shitty commentary on the shitty weather. Glenn 09-15-2008, 01:54 PM "Video no longer available" Fool 09-15-2008, 03:13 PM I think Mxy missed the explanation a while back. Apparently, Youtube allows people to restrict the video's they post from being embedded on other sites (or something similar). That's why I asked you to include the link to the video in the other thread Mxy. A lot of your video's aren't showing up (well they show but they can't be watched here) because of this. If you add the link along with embedding the video people can just hit the link if the video shows up as "video no longer available". Uncle Mxy 09-15-2008, 07:52 PM Ahhh... 1 s33 n0w... I use Firefox + a couple security extensions involving Flash (NoScript, Stop Autoplay) because I'm not a trusting person. With those extensions, Flash animations are opened in a way where it's not obvious to YouTube that it's embedded (probably by stripping the HTTP-Referer header, but I haven't explored what heuristics YouTube uses to determine what's "embedded"). So, it's always worked for me without my having to think about it, and I assumed that it worked for everyone else too. :) Vinny 09-16-2008, 12:22 PM Ahhh... 1 s33 n0w... Uncle Mxy 09-16-2008, 02:14 PM Thinking about it some, there's a very slight chance it's not either of those extensions. It might give me a free pass due to some of the other HTTP headers I mangle with. But I'd rather enjoy the pleasant weather today than pretend I know anything about technology. Fool 09-16-2008, 03:28 PM Mxy, it's not just you that can see them. Typically the person who actually went to the sight has been able to see the video fine (I believe). Uncle Mxy 09-16-2008, 08:17 PM If the animations are still in your browser or proxy cache, you should be able to see it because you're not really hitting the network to fetch the content. Tahoe 09-29-2008, 12:48 PM Just had the first rain drops of the year(maybe 10 of them)...not counting Jan, Feb, March. It doesn't rain all summer so its noteworthy out here. UxKa 05-23-2011, 06:37 PM Yesterday I was in the middle of typing in this thread about how we had some really nasty storms roll through, and before I posted the power went out lol. MikeMyers 02-10-2013, 01:56 PM I will never complain about cold weather again This winter sucks MikeMyers 02-24-2013, 10:16 AM Fuck Winter Tahoe 02-24-2013, 02:29 PM Temps are supposed to be between 65-75 all week. The air is so clear and fresh this time of year. CA sucks on lots of fronts but weather isn't one of them. DrRay11 02-24-2013, 03:59 PM yeah I am fucking ready for Spring. blah MikeMyers 02-24-2013, 04:20 PM You know its bad when you are stuck inside because its 34 and cloudy and the ground is snow covered. At least March is starting on Friday. I'm hopeful we get one of those odd 65-70 degree days that pop up randomly. DrRay11 02-24-2013, 06:15 PM I hope that day is March 16th Glenn 02-24-2013, 08:01 PM Even getting hammered with lake effect snow pretty much every day over the past month or so, it's still been an easy winter, IMO. We made it January with almost no snow. I'll take it. Timone 03-10-2013, 06:38 PM Koinda noice. Vinny 03-10-2013, 07:10 PM Raining. But balmy. MikeMyers 03-16-2013, 12:17 AM I hope that day is March 16th 3-4 inches of snow on tap for March 16th Uncle Mxy 03-17-2013, 09:21 AM 3-4 inches of snow on tap for March 16th And I had to go around town early morning in that shit. I-75 being narrowed down to one lane was fun. MikeMyers 03-17-2013, 11:56 AM I can't believe its St Patricks day and it feels like its January. Snow on the ground and not even 30 degrees at noon. Timone 03-28-2013, 06:52 PM Snow on Monday? SO SICK OF THIS BULLCRAP. MikeMyers 03-30-2013, 10:35 PM First BBQ of the year. USDA prime NY Strip steaks from Costco for the win. Yes, Monday and Tuesday is going to be cold as fuck again. Fuck Climate Change. Uncle Mxy 04-10-2013, 01:53 PM the heavy rains have been fucktacular Timone 04-10-2013, 06:10 PM Hate this. Glenn 06-12-2013, 11:41 PM Tornado warnings heading your way, bros. MikeMyers 12-15-2013, 12:28 PM Pretty much trapped in my house. I cleaned all the snow last night and now what seems like a couple inches have dropped and its still snowing. Timone 12-15-2013, 01:56 PM Pretty much trapped in my house. I cleaned all the snow last night and now what seems like a couple inches have dropped and its still snowing. Yeah man, this sucks. Uncle Mxy 12-16-2013, 11:18 AM This is autumn? MikeMyers 01-03-2014, 10:48 PM Bump for the next 2 months DrRay11 01-04-2014, 03:41 AM Can be march k thanks MikeMyers 01-07-2014, 06:31 PM Ok I never felt this kind of cold. The worst looks like its over. Tahoe 01-10-2014, 03:05 AM Sounds like it was bad. I was surprised that 15" was a record though. Thought we used to get a lot more. Tahoe 01-10-2014, 03:07 AM Its weird after living in Tahoe and getting 4 or 5 feet of snow and then another couple feet in a day or so hearing that a foot and half criples some places. We would end up with at least 20 feet of snow. Uncle Mxy 01-10-2014, 08:25 AM I think the wind is getting shortchanged in what happened here. There were sustained 25 mph winds in addition to the snow and cold. There's nothing like snow-blowing a foot and a half of snow-drifted snow in -45 F windchill. Vinny 01-10-2014, 02:26 PM Yeah, Chicago too. you could shovel everything and an hour later it would all have blown right back like you never even shoveled. Actually, I think it was more people using snow-blowers where it would blow back...Shovelers pack it up more...but you get the idea... MikeMyers 01-10-2014, 10:52 PM It was the cold that was the problem. Yeah, the snow sucked but the roads were just awful every day this week because the salt didn't work. Its finally raining now so its just turning into a big slushy mess. Uncle Mxy 01-12-2014, 09:29 AM In my sub, the salt wouldn't have worked because snow drifts covered the roads. You don't even get to "it's too fucking cold" until days later. Oh well... it's melting. Maybe my friend's pipes will finally clear and I don't have someone coming over every other day to take a fucking shower. Tahoe 01-17-2014, 08:53 PM My week is 72,72, 70, 72, 72 and 70. We are in a fuckin drought. Won't be able to wash the car this summer, etc. No watering of the lawns. Tahoe 01-17-2014, 08:54 PM Unless it starts downpouring. Vinny 01-18-2014, 11:42 AM Unless it starts downpouring. Fucking lib. DrRay11 01-19-2014, 04:53 PM I've got a little idea growing in my head about moving to Florida. Might be the drugs. MikeMyers 01-22-2014, 07:09 PM Florida is sounding better and better. This shit sucks especially since I don't live in Bloomfield either. Glenn 01-23-2014, 06:31 AM Nasty. DrRay11 01-23-2014, 09:57 AM http://moveanywherebutflorida.com/ What a mess. Not only tl'dr but extremely ugly. I mean, how hard could it be to find a decent neighborhood? There has to be SOME in any state. Tahoe 01-23-2014, 04:29 PM Why do y'all live where its so fuckin cold? Timone 01-23-2014, 06:48 PM cuz we aren't old. Tahoe 01-23-2014, 08:42 PM You have to be old to not wanna live where you freeze ur nutz off on a daily basis. Drive through snow. Shovel the driveway. scrape the windshield every morning. Tahoe 01-23-2014, 08:43 PM sposed to be ? not . after all those sentences. Timone 01-23-2014, 08:48 PM You have to be old to not wanna live where you freeze ur nutz off on a daily basis. Drive through snow. Shovel the driveway. scrape the windshield every morning. Mind if I crash at your place for a little bit? I know you're kinda lonely, what, with no wife or son. Timone 01-23-2014, 08:48 PM I'm coming over anyway. I'll bring the 'zas fthat I was supposed to be out delivering. I'll keep you on the straight and narrow, bro. MikeMyers 01-23-2014, 10:07 PM I'm coming over with Big Nasty Corliss Williamson. Requesting bunk beds. Timone 01-23-2014, 10:19 PM I'm sure wherever 'hoe lives is no Bloomfield, but it'll have to do. Tahoe 01-23-2014, 10:51 PM apter sebendy I caint take the cold no mo. Tahoe 01-29-2014, 07:02 PM 52bAWXDXUrs MikeMyers 02-01-2014, 10:59 PM Got another 6 inches of snow today. Shit will never end. Uncle Mxy 02-03-2014, 11:46 PM Are we still supposed to get half a foot of snow in the Detroit area tomorrow night? Uncle Mxy 02-05-2014, 10:56 AM Apparently so. Between that and my car getting plowed in last night (while parked on the street -- a booty call was involved), I've had enough of this bullshit weather. There's not enough places for the fucking snow to go. Fuck this fucking shitty-ass fuck weather. Timone 02-05-2014, 12:39 PM Roads are so, so, so bad. Real scared, you guys. Vinny 02-05-2014, 12:52 PM Roads are so, so, so bad. Real scared, you guys. And neither snow, nor rain, nor heat, nor gloom of night, nor the winds of change, nor a nation challenged, will stay us from the swift delivery of that extra large pepperoni. Hang in there Timbeau. I salute you. Thank you for your service.... MikeMyers 02-05-2014, 10:18 PM I'm at a loss of where to put the snow. MikeMyers 02-09-2014, 09:46 PM Supposedly this is the last week of hardcore shit and warm air from the west (Thanks Tahoe) will be heading our way after next weekend. Just survive this week you guys. MikeMyers 02-16-2014, 11:27 PM 3-6 inches of snow tomorrow. Yippee Uncle Mxy 02-17-2014, 11:28 AM 3-6 inches of snow tomorrow.
