Who needs mulch when you have leaves? I have a garden bed with mostly hostas that I never need to mulch because it's a natural leaf magnet.

Of course, it helps that the hostas are practically immortal.

Never been a fan of hostas. A lot of people around me like/have them, though. They might all be from the same family of hostas as you can move them and pull off parts of them and grow new ones (I think) so people share them and never really tend them (unless for appearances) and they will never die.

I'm a serious gardner. I have a bunch of small Japanese maples that won't grow past 4 feet. I also have quite a few hydrangeas. Just to throw out some serious talk, I installed an irrigation system this week to water everything and I have red mulch bitches. Top that!

Did my running today while it was raining. Much better than when it's just hot and muggy. Took the dog, who is definitely out of shape. Pulled her along the back half of the run.

Ok fam finally finished the mulch this morning. Had to go back yesterday and get more red bags. Now I'll be down to pulling weeds and cutting the grass weekly. Funny how empty Lowes garden center was last night. People already planning winter. Supposed to be big time storms later today.

Finished the lawn early this afternoon. Softball game got rained out before the bottom half of the first inning. Good thing too, we were down like 6 or 8 or something already. Our starting pitcher wasn't there and the backup walked like 4 guys in the inning (walked in 2 runs). This after we mercied our opponent in our first game 16-5 (we won) in the 5th inning and had our second game (not this one) rained out. Had a bye week and a holiday as well. Will have been a month since the only game we've gotten to finish next week and I'm out of the country for two weeks starting next Sunday. Rough year for softball.
