Glenn 04-03-2008, 08:35 AM Here's a thread where you can aks bukdow anything that you would like to.
If you are fortunate enough to get a response, prepare to be enlightened.
Timone 04-03-2008, 11:02 AM Witness the majesty. Smell the rich mahogany. This is kind of like NPR and PBS wrapped up into a subforum. Whilst reading here, you'll almost feel like you are part of the intellectual elite (don't get too excited, you're not)
Fucking genius!
I like bukdow, I'm glad this day has come.
bukdow 04-03-2008, 12:53 PM OK, shoot. However, I will answer honestly and will not suffer any delusions, no matter how closely held.
Timone 04-03-2008, 12:55 PM Who are you voting for?
bukdow 04-03-2008, 01:01 PM Who are you voting for?
Barack Obama. He is a good man who has America`s fortunes in the forefront of his mind rather than just his own. If you did not hear the speech he made recently about race and America, I suggest you read the transcript.
Timone 04-03-2008, 01:06 PM Is Tahoe correct when he says Fox News really is fair and balanced?
bukdow 04-03-2008, 01:19 PM Is Tahoe correct when he says Fox News really is fair and balanced?
No. It is very well known that FOX News is the voice for "conservative" America in response to what is seen as an over-arching "liberal media" in America.
Glenn 04-03-2008, 01:24 PM What did you mean when you said (paraphrase), "A bukdow isn't a thing, it's a way of life"?
bukdow 04-03-2008, 01:50 PM What did you mean when you said (paraphrase), "A bukdow isn't a thing, it's a way of life"?
By that I meant existing in honesty. Honesty regarding yourself, your environment and your context. Self-delusion, in any form, is a path to self-destructive, willful ignorance. Honesty is difficult and many choose delusion and other forms of escapism.
Timone 04-03-2008, 01:54 PM Now I get it!
Do you watch any pro sports?
bukdow 04-03-2008, 01:56 PM Now I get it!
Do you watch any pro sports?
Yes, football, baseball and the NBA playoffs. I like sports because I think it is the best, most pure, form of "reality television".
Timone 04-03-2008, 01:58 PM I agree.
Glenn 04-03-2008, 01:58 PM Are you a Lions fan?
bukdow 04-03-2008, 02:09 PM Are you a Lions fan?
I suppose. I root for them because they are the home team, but I have a hard time truly getting behind any pro-team because of the money that is involved. I don`t neccessarily begrudge the players making a lot of money, but when players are making $10-27 million a year when there are many in this country who are struggling to provide food and shelter for themselves and their families, I find the salaries obscene.
That may have been more answer than you were looking for.
Timone 04-03-2008, 02:11 PM I know the meaning of bukdow, but where does the word actually come from?
bukdow 04-03-2008, 02:16 PM I know the meaning of bukdow, but where does the word actually come from?
That, I can not reveal.
Timone 04-03-2008, 02:20 PM Searching yields nothing.
If I meditate, will it be revealed?
bukdow 04-03-2008, 02:22 PM Searching yields nothing.
If I meditate, will it be revealed?
I can not say. I would not focus on the word, but rather what the word represents.
Timone 04-03-2008, 02:25 PM Favorite movie and book?
bukdow 04-03-2008, 02:48 PM Favorite movie and book?
Favorite movie? Thats a tough one. Man, if I had to choose one, I guess it would be Casablanca. A close second would be Miller`s Crossing.
Favorite book is another tough one. I guess Moveable Feast, by Hemingway. A close second would be Invisible Man by Ralph Elison.
Timone 04-03-2008, 02:51 PM One of your degrees is in history, so I assume you're a history buff. What is your favorite period in history?
Glenn 04-03-2008, 03:01 PM Wow, this is almost getting to "interview" status.
Timone 04-03-2008, 03:03 PM Wow, this is almost getting to "interview" status.
You've gotta admit, that was a good question.
bukdow 04-03-2008, 04:07 PM One of your degrees is in history, so I assume you're a history buff. What is your favorite period in history?
My favorite era in American history would be The Civil War. It was America`s "puberty" and really set the course for what kind of country we were going to be.
Other interesting eras would be the European Rennaisance, The Crusades (the more things change, the more they stay the same) and the concept of "Revolution" and why/how people react in such a manner (Cuban, the fall of Apartheid).
Zekyl 04-03-2008, 04:08 PM What initially led you to WTFDetroit?
Timone 04-03-2008, 04:11 PM My favorite era in American history would be The Civil War. It was America`s "puberty" and really set the course for what kind of country we were going to be.
I'm related to one of the (Confederate) generals.
bukdow 04-03-2008, 04:12 PM What initially led you to WTFDetroit?
A link on another message board to a discussion on WTFDetroit about Dar Tucker`s recruitment.
Zekyl 04-03-2008, 04:12 PM Who's your favorite WTFPoster?
bukdow 04-03-2008, 04:13 PM I'm related to one of the (Confederate) generals.
I like reading about The Civil War too, even though I prefer learning about world history.
Yes, America is a very young country and does not have the layers of history that the rest of the world does, but America`s history is intense. A lot has happened in a very little time.
bukdow 04-03-2008, 04:15 PM Who's your favorite WTFPoster?
I do not have a favorite.
Timone 04-03-2008, 04:15 PM Don't get me wrong, I like learning about the history of this country.
The history of other countries just appeals to me more I guess.
Timone 04-03-2008, 04:17 PM Your thoughts on DrTre?

Most painful thing you'd rather do instead of watch MTV?
bukdow 04-03-2008, 04:35 PM Your thoughts on DrTre?
MSU`s version of Jethro.
bukdow 04-03-2008, 04:36 PM Do you actually own a green and white tent?
No. I own a Marmot Nutshell 3-season tent.
bukdow 04-03-2008, 04:36 PM One question at a time, Glenn.
Most painful thing you'd rather do instead of watch MTV?
Watch local news.

bukdow 04-03-2008, 04:46 PM Does the path to enlightenment begin by subscribing to Harper's and Smithsonian, or do you HAVE to read too?
Being interested in what Harper`s and Smithsonian offer is a by-product of rejecting mind-numbing pop-culture. In addition, reading literature is yet another thing your mind will want and enjoy once you stop swigging the Mountain Dew culture that is primarily offered in this country.
Timone 04-03-2008, 04:48 PM People who drink Mountain Dew usually play Guitar Hero, and people who play Guitar Hero pop the collars on their shirts and call other people "bro".
Don't you just hate that?
bukdow 04-03-2008, 04:49 PM People who drink Mountain Dew usually play Guitar Hero, and people who play Guitar Hero pop the collars on their shirts and call other people "bro".
Don't you just hate that?
I am not familiar with those things.
Timone 04-03-2008, 04:51 PM A couple more questions before I log off...
Parents excluded, who do you look up to? Who helped you become the man you are today?
bukdow 04-03-2008, 05:03 PM A couple more questions before I log off...
Parents excluded, who do you look up to? Who helped you become the man you are today?
Some historical figures that have provided me with inspiration are; Theodore Roosevelt, Ernesto Guevara, Winston Churchill, Elanor Roosevelt, Thomas Jefferson, Nelson Mandela, Dwight Eisenhower and Lao Tzu among others. And of course, JC. Although I am enormously imperfect, JC has always been a good, understanding companion.
Timone 04-03-2008, 05:04 PM I always thought you were a mix between JC, Buddha, and Che.
Thanks for answering all of my questions and helping me understand you a little better.
Vinny 04-03-2008, 09:34 PM Mr. Bukdow, Why ask why?
DennyMcLain 04-03-2008, 10:01 PM Barack Obama. He is a good man who has America`s fortunes in the forefront of his mind rather than just his own. If you did not hear the speech he made recently about race and America, I suggest you read the transcript. It's rich in innuendo and drips of exquisite irony. Personally, I find it as intellectually challenging and intensely satisfying as anything by Alfred Kinsey.

What type of books do you keep on that shelf Denny?
DennyMcLain 04-04-2008, 06:40 PM What type of books do you keep on that shelf Denny?
Various volumes of voluptuous prose, which collectively define my intelligence as greater than yours.
Also tons of Calvin and Hobbes compilations
Vinny 04-04-2008, 07:17 PM Mr. Bukdow, what is your five year plan?
Zekyl 04-04-2008, 11:43 PM Are those leather-bound Calvin and Hobbes?

bukdow 04-05-2008, 01:17 PM bukdow,
How do you think Jesus feels about your porn collection?
I am happily married and no longer require a porn collection. However, since Jesus is infinitely understanding and forgiving, he would probably just laugh and skake his head and say, "Dumbass."
bukdow 04-05-2008, 01:21 PM Why do you consistently and mistakenly use a grave accent mark where it would be correct to use apostrophe, which is so much easier to type?
Just a mistake, I guess. I really don`t see the difference between them. It`s and it's. Meh. Six of one and half dozen of the other.
Timone 04-05-2008, 01:31 PM I've always wondered that myself, but I figured that since you're bukdow (and therefore not a pussy), you just prefer to do it the hard way.
Tahoe 04-05-2008, 01:32 PM Bukdow...

Timone 04-05-2008, 01:35 PM Is it frustrating being a MSU football fan?
I can answer this one...no. I think bukdow likes where the program is going (I do too, but I won't bootlick!)

Whats your beef with Noman podhoretz?
And your history studies...you prefer the 1600s, 1700s or the precambrian era?
Is it frustrating being a MSU football fan?
Podhoretz is a myopic Zionist. His whole world-view is based on fear and more fear. He is intellectually inflexible and the world has passed him by.
Of the historical eras you mentioned, I prefer the 17th century (1600s) because, although it did not include Michelangelo or Da Vinci, it was a a century still very influenced by Renaissance thinking.
Yes, it can be frustrating being a MSU football fan. But, as Sir DB said, the program is moving in the right direction and I believe MSU football will experience consistent success under Dantonio.
bukdow 04-05-2008, 01:45 PM I have a questyun...
buk, are you a vegetarian?
No. When I lived in San Francisco, my girlfriend was a vegan (therefore, so was I). That was enough for me. Although I incorporate a lot of vegetables into my diet, I am not a vegetarian.
Glenn 04-05-2008, 01:46 PM bukdow,
Thank you for agreeing to answer these questions "honestly and without suffering any delusions".
I have a medical question for you.
What are your personal thoughts on masterbation?
How often do you, personally, you know...cuff the carrot?
Timone 04-05-2008, 01:47 PM I have a medical question for you.
What are your personal thoughts on masterbation?
Is that what you call it? A medical question? I'd say it's more of a "Glenn is a loser" question.
Just kidding. I just don't get why, of all the questions you can ask, you ask that.
Glenn 04-05-2008, 01:47 PM No. When I lived in San Francisco, my girlfriend was a vegan (therefore, so was I). That was enough for me. Although I incorporate a lot of vegetables into my diet, I am not a vegetarian.
Why do you feel that just because your girlfriend was a vegan, that you had to be one as well?
Isn't that sort of sheeplike, just like being a WalMart Wolverine?

Thank you for agreeing to answer these questions "honestly and without suffering any delusions".
I have a medical question for you.
What are your personal thoughts on masterbation?
How often do you, personally, you know...cuff the carrot?
Masturbation is a normal part of life. Frankly, my personal manipulations are just that, personal. However, since being married, I "cuff the carrot" much less frequently than before I was married.
Timone 04-05-2008, 01:49 PM Juels said his girlfriend was a vegetarian and that made him one as well.
bukdow is just trying really hard to be the shepherd.
bukdow 04-05-2008, 01:51 PM Why do you feel that just because your girlfriend was a vegan, that you had to be one as well?
Isn't that sort of sheeplike, just like being a WalMart Wolverine?
Yes. Although I willingly went along out of curiosity, I did allow my girlfriend to influence my behavior. However, if you have ever been in a "live in" relationship, these types of behaviors are not uncommon.

Mr. Bukdow, what is your five year plan?

Right now, my wife and I are in the process of buying a house. We plan to live in it for 5-7 years and then, hopefully, sell it in a recovered housing market for a decent profit and then buy a house in the country (with a good school system) with some acreage.
At that point, our son will be around 7 years old and we can start to travel internationally with him. I look forward to being a father to a 7 year old boy and introducing him to the world.

Zekyl 04-08-2008, 05:42 PM Vinny's question is legit, he asked it in another thread, we just feel you'd give the best answer.
Timone 04-08-2008, 05:56 PM bukdow, what was your FIRST job?
bukdow 04-08-2008, 07:32 PM bukdow, what was your FIRST job?
A busboy at a restaurant. At least that was the first job I filled out a W2 for.
bukdow 04-08-2008, 07:34 PM Why do the Tigers (Detroit) suck right now?
The new players have not yet meshed with each other and the pitching sucks, especially middle and late relief. Due to their pitching problems, Detroit will not make the playoffs.
bukdow 04-08-2008, 07:35 PM Bukdow, have you ever sent TheLongArmOfTheLaw a private message at FVsports.com?
I am unaware of both TheLongArmOfTheLaw and FVsports.com. So, no.
Timone 04-08-2008, 07:35 PM Who ya got in the (Women's) National Championship game tonight, Tennessee or Stanford?
And is Candace Parker hot or what?
bukdow 04-08-2008, 07:36 PM Currently reside in? Just roughly.
Mid-Michigan.
bukdow 04-08-2008, 07:36 PM Mr. Bukdow, what's a Metropark?
A metropark is a rural park set in a metropolitan area.
bukdow 04-08-2008, 07:38 PM Who ya got in the (Women's) National Championship game tonight, Tennessee or Stanford?
And is Candace Parker hot or what?
Have to go with Tennessee. I have not see enough pictures of Ms. Parker to establish if she is hot or not.
Timone 04-08-2008, 07:39 PM You ever been to the Wave Pool?
bukdow 04-08-2008, 07:42 PM You ever been to the Wave Pool?
No.
Timone 04-08-2008, 07:48 PM When you say DrTre is MSU's version of Jethro, even though I don't think Tre even attended MSU, what do you mean by that?
bukdow 04-08-2008, 07:52 PM When you say DrTre is MSU's version of Jethro, even though I don't think Tre even attended MSU, what do you mean by that?
Although well informed and well intentioned, they both seem wayyyy too involved in the sports programs of a university they did not attend.
Timone 04-08-2008, 07:52 PM Great point.
Timone 04-08-2008, 08:03 PM If you could visit or live anywhere in the world, where would you go?
bukdow 04-08-2008, 08:12 PM If you could visit or live anywhere in the world, where would you go?
If I could visit anywhere, it would Antarctica. Probably the last truly wild place on the planet. If I could live anywhere, it would be Paris. I was in France in 2005 and Paris was fantastic. Great, great city.
Tahoe 04-08-2008, 08:14 PM Bukdow...did you know I'm French?
bukdow 04-08-2008, 08:15 PM Bukdow...did you know I'm French?
No.
Timone 04-08-2008, 08:15 PM Tahoe was born in America, he can't be French. Claiming he is would make him a bootlick, right?
Tahoe 04-08-2008, 08:15 PM Did you know I was born and raised in Mid-Michigan?
bukdow 04-08-2008, 08:16 PM Tahoe was born in America, he can't be French. Claiming he is would make him a bootlick, right?
He should clarify and say that he is of French descent. However, to claim any ethnicity besides "American", I believe one must be at least 50% of the ethnicity they are claiming.
bukdow 04-08-2008, 08:17 PM Did you know I was born and raised in Mid-Michigan?

Timone 04-08-2008, 08:19 PM He should clarify and say that he is of French descent. However, to claim any ethnicity besides "American", I believe one must be at least 50% of the ethnicity they are claiming.
I think one has to be actually from there. Just my opinion.
But since this is about you...if Tahoe is less than half, he can say he's of French descent, but he can't identify himself as a French-American...right?
bukdow 04-08-2008, 08:21 PM I think one has to be actually from there. Just my opinion.
But since this is about you...if Tahoe is less than half, he can say he's of French descent, but he can't identify himself as a French-American...right?
As far as I am concerned, yes. However, I can see your point, too.
Timone 04-08-2008, 08:23 PM Of course, one could argue that he has "French blood" in him...
We need Tahoe to clear this up.
Timone 04-08-2008, 08:25 PM Do you have a pet iguana named Tom Lizzo?
If not, do you have any pets? If so, what are their names?
DennyMcLain 04-08-2008, 08:26 PM If I could visit anywhere, it would Antarctica. Probably the last truly wild place on the planet. If I could live anywhere, it would be Paris. I was in France in 2005 and Paris was fantastic. Great, great city.
Bukdow.
Considering Paris is the final retiring destination of many Arabs, are YOU an Arab terrorist
Vinny 04-08-2008, 08:28 PM He should clarify and say that he is of French descent. However, to claim any ethnicity besides "American", I believe one must be at least 50% of the ethnicity they are claiming.
Let's say someone's 50% Irish and 50% German then. Which are they? They are at least 50% of each so they can claim the ethnicity but how is one of the ethnicities more important than the other? Would it just be the person's choice on which ethnicity they want to claim or in the interest of full disclosure would they need to tell everyone about both halfs (in this case, they could say they're "Irish-German")? This may not seem like a big deal but what if someone who was 50/50 Polish and Swiss were kind of dumb and wanted to hide the fact that they were part Polish to avoid embarrassment?
bukdow 04-08-2008, 08:29 PM Do you have a pet iguana named Tom Lizzo?
If not, do you have any pets? If so, what are their names?
No. We have a rabbit and a bird. Named "bunny" and "bird".
bukdow 04-08-2008, 08:29 PM Bukdow.
Considering Paris is the final retiring destination of many Arabs, are YOU an Arab terrorist
No.
Timone 04-08-2008, 08:30 PM Let's say someone's 50% Irish and 50% German then. Which are they?
They're just white.

Yes, that is quite a conundrum. I guess they could choose the ethnicity they preferred, or as you suggest, go with full disclosure.
FYI, Polish jokes are only told in the US. Polish people do not carry the same stigmas in Europe that they do in the US (i.e. dumb or backwards).
Vinny 04-08-2008, 08:34 PM Mr. Bukdow, are you a Pistons fan too or do you just follow college athletics? Red Wings? Lions? Shock?
bukdow 04-08-2008, 08:35 PM They're just white.
Or that.
Vinny 04-08-2008, 08:35 PM Also, do you remember the Detroit Drive, the greatest football team Michigan's ever seen?
Timone 04-08-2008, 08:36 PM Yes, that is quite a conundrum. I guess they could choose the ethnicity they preferred
That's discrimination, isn't it?
bukdow 04-08-2008, 08:36 PM Mr. Bukdow, are you a Pistons fan too or do you just follow college athletics? Red Wings? Lions? Shock?
As I stated earlier, I root for the Detroit teams because I am from Michigan. However, I have a hard time getting fully behind a pro-team because of the salaries involved. There are too many people experiencing true need for athletes to be paid the money they are. It is obscene.
bukdow 04-08-2008, 08:37 PM Also, do you remember the Detroit Drive, the greatest football team Michigan's ever seen?
I think the Michigan Panthers were the best football team the state of Michigan has ever had.
bukdow 04-08-2008, 08:38 PM That's discrimination, isn't it?
I suppose you could view it that way. No, I am not 100% Hungarian, only 50%.
Glenn 04-08-2008, 08:40 PM I used to "know" a Hungarian stripper, she was smoking hot.
Cheetah's in Windsor, btw.
edit: sorry, I forgot to pose a question.
Bukdow, do you like George Blaha?
Timone 04-08-2008, 08:41 PM I suppose you could view it that way
Might as well just deal with it, you know? Your ancestry/ethnic background is something you can't control.
Now that we put that to bed...
How's Michigan State's field hockey team doing?
bukdow 04-08-2008, 08:45 PM I used to "know" a Hungarian stripper, she was smoking hot.

Yes, Hungarian people are generally quite physically attractive.
Yeah, I like George Blaha. You know the whole, "Touchdown, MSU!" thing.
Vinny 04-08-2008, 08:47 PM Did the Michigan Panthers ever win 4 consecutive Arena Bowl Titles?

Although the official season is yet to begin, they are doing quite well.

bukdow 04-08-2008, 08:50 PM Did the Michigan Panthers ever win 4 consecutive Arena Bowl Titles?
No, but they were the first and only champions of the USFL. Also, Anthony Carter was on the team. From the "Big House", to the "big time".
Glenn 04-08-2008, 08:51 PM So you liked Anthony Carter?
bukdow 04-08-2008, 08:53 PM So you liked Anthony Carter?
Well, he did drop that pass in Ann Arbor to give MSU the victory. I just felt bad about his teeth. What a mess. Seems like Bo could have hooked him up with an orthodontist.
Timone 04-08-2008, 08:59 PM Do you have any fears?
Death, heights, anything?
Tahoe 04-08-2008, 09:00 PM BukDow, getting back to the other question and answer...Yes, I grew up in mid-Mich. Every been to Bay City/Saginaw/Midland area? If you, did you like it?

b-diddy 04-08-2008, 11:09 PM A busboy at a restaurant. At least that was the first job I filled out a W2 for.
among the most mysterious answers i've ever seen. there is a WIDE spectrum of first jobs that you dont fill out a W2 for...
b-diddy 04-08-2008, 11:18 PM Yes, Hungarian people are generally quite physically attractive.
Yeah, I like George Blaha. You know the whole, "Touchdown, MSU!" thing.
2 parter:
1) why did a word conoseiur such as yourself choose the word "people" rather than "women". hint or freudian slip?
2) how are you able to listen to MSU football games on the radio from your mom's basement?
Timone 04-09-2008, 12:33 AM bukdow, I know you're a Christian, but what are your thoughts on religion?
BubblesTheLion 04-09-2008, 01:34 AM I am unaware of both TheLongArmOfTheLaw and FVsports.com. So, no.
Excellent, I rest my case Timmy.
Zekyl 04-09-2008, 10:13 AM A very attractive female asked to take me out to dinner for my birthday tonight, but she's bringing along her roommate. How should I interpret the situation?
bukdow 04-09-2008, 10:42 AM Do you have any fears?
Death, heights, anything?
My greatest fear is that my son will contract a fatal or dehabilitating illness. More conventionally, I guess I have a fear of heights or maybe premature death because I went skydiving 12 times and reached the point where I was doing jumps from 7500 feet and freefall, but everytime it was my turn to step out of the plane, I was terrified.
bukdow 04-09-2008, 10:43 AM BukDow, getting back to the other question and answer...Yes, I grew up in mid-Mich. Every been to Bay City/Saginaw/Midland area? If you, did you like it?
I have been to Saginaw quite a few times, but not Midland or Bay City. Seemed like regular blue-collar Michigan to me.
bukdow 04-09-2008, 10:45 AM 2 parter:
1) why did a word conoseiur such as yourself choose the word "people" rather than "women". hint or freudian slip?
2) how are you able to listen to MSU football games on the radio from your mom's basement?
Because I was expanding the idea of physical beauty to all of those of Hungarian descent.
Glenn 04-09-2008, 10:47 AM Would you consider your son growing up to be a UM-AA fan a fatal or "dehabilitating" illness?
bukdow 04-09-2008, 10:51 AM bukdow, I know you're a Christian, but what are your thoughts on religion?
I think religion is fine, but it seems that most religions now have been skewed to serve the wants and desires of man. Religion in and of itself is fine, but many times what humans do with their "devotion" is diametrically opposed to the actual religious message.
bukdow 04-09-2008, 10:51 AM Excellent, I rest my case Timmy.
Again, I am unfamiliar with what you are referencing.
bukdow 04-09-2008, 10:53 AM A very attractive female asked to take me out to dinner for my birthday tonight, but she's bringing along her roommate. How should I interpret the situation?
She is either only interested in being friends or she is bringing her friend along as insulation and security. If the second scenario is true, she may want to go out with you alone if all goes well tonight. So, behave and be a gentleman.
bukdow 04-09-2008, 10:54 AM Would you consider your son growing up to be a UM-AA fan a fatal or "dehabilitating" illness?
Not necessarily. If he ended up going to UM, my wife and I (both MSU graduates) would be happy for him, but as soon as he started acting like a smug little shit, he would be pulling my boot out of his ass.
Glenn 04-09-2008, 11:29 AM as soon as he started acting like a smug little shit, he would be pulling my boot out of his ass.

bukdow 04-09-2008, 11:47 AM No offense, but wouldn't he just be trying to be like Dad? Maybe this is just your internet persona?
Whatever. There are others on this board that make me look downright Pollyannish.
Glenn 04-09-2008, 12:02 PM Like I said, no offense. Even you have to admit that you come accross as smug every once in a while.
Have you ever read The New Yorker?
Timone 04-09-2008, 12:15 PM Not necessarily. If he ended up going to UM, my wife and I (both MSU graduates) would be happy for him, but as soon as he started acting like a smug little shit, he would be pulling my boot out of his ass.
I like that.
I can't stand smug people!
Glenn 04-09-2008, 12:18 PM B,
Also, what kind of boots do you wear?
Timone 04-09-2008, 12:18 PM I'll take this one...
A very attractive female asked to take me out to dinner for my birthday tonight, but she's bringing along her roommate. How should I interpret the situation?
Your mother just wants to celebrate your birthday with you. Why interpret it any other way?
Zekyl 04-09-2008, 01:07 PM Bukdow, I can't remember if I asked you this in another thread before or not but:

That seriously goes down as one of the best rock songs of all time in my opinion.

We got dinner, hung out for a bit, visited a mutual friend at work, seemed like she had a good time. Not really sure how to take it, if it was just friends or if she's interested. She did make a comment about going to the park with me sometime and maybe going for a run or a walk or something. We'll see where that goes.
Timone 04-09-2008, 10:47 PM buk, how and where did you meet your wife?

You are a dope. Religion is a creation of man. Of course it's going to get "skewed" to the wants and desires of man.
How can humans be diametrically opposed to the message of religion when humans created the message of religion. It's a conundrum, but that's the reality of it.
It's kind of like when some dope makes a piece of toast, and then it has the "likeness" of the Virgin Mary (HAH!) or Jesus on it. How can it be the likeness of someone no one has a fucking clue what they looked like?
Same thing with religion: How can man be opposed to a message he created?

Jesus was/is a real individual who espoused a definite message. Humans have mutated that message to suit them and their desires.
You correctly point out how humans` desire for religiosity manifests itself in very stupid ways. However, you fail to realize that there was, and still is, a core truth and honesty to religion which was not created by man. You have allowed the errors of man to cloud your judgement to the point of childish petulance.

Yes, but none of those. The beer that generally resides in my fridge Sierra Nevada Pale Ale. Also, I like a nice Pinot Noir (wine).
Did you start drinking Pinot before or after the movie.
bukdow 04-10-2008, 04:02 PM Did you start drinking Pinot before or after the movie.

Timone 04-10-2008, 05:22 PM What's the craziest thing you've done at a party?
MoTown 04-10-2008, 05:23 PM The show is so ridiculous that you can't help but laugh. Newer episodes aren't as good as the old ones, though.

Jumped out from behind a tree (in the winter) to scare my friend, slid on some ice and cut his eye open with my bottle of beer. We then went inside and I stitched up my friends eye with needle and thread in the bathroom while my other friend videotaped it. We still watch it sometimes. Obviously, we were pretty boozed.
