bukdow 04-10-2008, 05:28 PM The show is so ridiculous that you can't help but laugh. Newer episodes aren't as good as the old ones, though.
Exactly. The new episodes are lame. We were very disappointed with the movie. I guess its hard to keep that kind of hilarious insanity up.
My wife also brought home a DVD called Robot Chicken. That was pretty funny, too.
Zekyl 04-10-2008, 05:47 PM Robot Chicken is one of my favorite shows. Its a solid 15 minutes every episode.
Admit it, you may not have been a fan of the movie (agreed, it wasn't that great) but you loved the musical intro with the theater food metal band.

Yeah, it was OK. Things like ATHF and SNL skits should stay as 10-15 minute skits and not be turned into movies.
Vinny 04-10-2008, 07:23 PM Mr Bukdow, when you were a kid, did you call your male parent "Father" or "Dad"? (Or something else?) What do you call him now? What do you call your father in law?
Timone 04-10-2008, 07:26 PM So I got a puppy today, bukdow. She's 10 weeks old and mixed with pitbull, bulldog, and something else I forget. The person who was getting rid of the dogs said he was going to leave the ones that didn't go by the rail road tracks. Fortunately though, there were none left.
My question: what kind of a person does that?
Vinny 04-10-2008, 07:50 PM Mr Bukdow, let's say that the guy exhausted all of his resources and there was still one puppy left. Would you take that puppy into your home (as a pet, not for meat mind you)? If so, why or if not, why not?
Glenn 04-10-2008, 08:33 PM bukdow, a lot of people here are wondering why you are being so cordial all of a sudden, what gives?

Glenn 04-11-2008, 05:38 AM bukdow, do you play any instruments?
Skin flute. First chair.
Timone 04-11-2008, 05:42 AM LOL
Seriously bukdow, do you?
Vinny 04-11-2008, 03:00 PM Mr Bukdow, when are you going to answer our questions?
Tahoe 04-11-2008, 05:54 PM Bukdow, you seem to me to more of a badminton guy then a football guy. Did you ever play organized football?
Wilfredo Ledezma 04-11-2008, 07:11 PM bukdow, are you a disciple of Spartan grad Mike Valenti?
Also, do you think Drew Neitzel will be on an NBA roster next November?
Wilfredo Ledezma 04-11-2008, 07:17 PM bukdow, has there been a more pathetic gene pool for producing NFL talent than the Thornhills?
I mean seriously, there have been like 17 consecutive generations of Thornhills starting at Middle LB at Michigan St, and none of them can make it past preseason cuts in the NFL.
Tahoe 04-11-2008, 07:25 PM Bukdow...How would you deal with Iran? Talk to them or bomb the fuck out of them?
If you could, please use a bunch of multisyllabic political buzz words like 'multilateral, unilateral or even 'two-pronged attack'.
Vinny 04-11-2008, 07:31 PM Mr. Bukdow, why have you forsaken us? Our questions need answering.
Wilfredo Ledezma 04-11-2008, 08:14 PM bukdow, maybe you can tell me what that blotch on Delonte West's lip is?

I think that comes from eating too many carrots, but I don't know, we should doublecheck w/ bukdow...
BubblesTheLion 04-11-2008, 11:04 PM Dear Bukdow,
You are damn near my clone, most of the principals you hold are the same as mine. If you continue to post on this forum, I will have nothing to say if you answer before me, and vice versa.
Should one of us leave this forum , and if so, what are your terms for combat?

I would like to put in one vote for Bubbles should stay.
Poll?
Vinny 04-11-2008, 11:33 PM Axis and Allies or Chess. Those are the weapons to choose from.
Timone 04-11-2008, 11:36 PM I would like to put in one vote for Bubbles should stay.

I'd vote for bukdow.
I'd vote for bukdow.
Maybe they are alter egos... one in the same. Would we ultimately be voting for the same person?
Timone 04-11-2008, 11:59 PM bukdow wouldn't stoop to posing as a Michigan fan.
bukdow 04-12-2008, 09:15 AM Mr Bukdow, when you were a kid, did you call your male parent "Father" or "Dad"? (Or something else?) What do you call him now? What do you call your father in law?
I called my male parent "Dad" then and still do. My wife`s father died before we married.
bukdow 04-12-2008, 09:16 AM So I got a puppy today, bukdow. She's 10 weeks old and mixed with pitbull, bulldog, and something else I forget. Some people have no regard for animals.

No, because at the moment it would be very unrealistic. The world is a tough place.
bukdow 04-12-2008, 09:18 AM bukdow, a lot of people here are wondering why you are being so cordial all of a sudden, what gives?
Change is good. Even the best sailor must tack.
bukdow 04-12-2008, 09:19 AM bukdow, do you play any instruments?
Not really. I know some chords on the guitar, thats about it. I am more of a tree-climber.
bukdow 04-12-2008, 09:20 AM Bukdow, you seem to me to more of a badminton guy then a football guy. Did you ever play organized football?
Played all through high school. Varsity from 10th grade on.
bukdow 04-12-2008, 09:21 AM bukdow, are you a disciple of Spartan grad Mike Valenti?
Also, do you think Drew Neitzel will be on an NBA roster next November?
There is no way in hell Neitzel will be on an NBA roster next year, or any year.
bukdow 04-12-2008, 11:17 AM Bukdow...How would you deal with Iran? Talk to them or bomb the fuck out of them?
If you could, please use a bunch of multisyllabic political buzz words like 'multilateral, unilateral or even 'two-pronged attack'.
Negotiation and diplomacy. The way things are going in Iraq, the last thing we need to do is engage in a military conflict with the most powerful nation in the region who is backed by Russia and China. Additionally, the conservative Iranian government is unpopular with the people due to poor economics and restrictive social policies, if we bomb Iran we will only increase their popularity, via nationalism, and ensconce them in power. You must see the big picture and not fall for the childish clarion call of "bomb `em back to the stone age."

I see no reason why we can`t co-exist even though you are not well versed in the very effective Sicilian defense.
Vinny 04-12-2008, 11:29 AM Mr. Bukdow, what did you do yesterday?
Glenn 04-12-2008, 11:47 AM buk,
Who do you like to win The Masters?
I know that you enjoy women's sports, are you a WNBA fan?
Wilfredo Ledezma 04-13-2008, 06:51 PM bukdow, is it wrong for a 19 year old to date a 15 year old?
DennyMcLain 04-13-2008, 09:06 PM bukdow, is it wrong for a 19 year old to date a 15 year old?
Girls or Cabbage Patch Dolls?
Balkan 04-13-2008, 11:08 PM bukdow, in your your opinion, who is the better singer? Gordon Lightfoot or Neil Diamond?
Glenn 04-14-2008, 05:26 AM bukdow, in your your opinion, who is the better singer? Gordon Lightfoot or Neil Diamond?
A strong return for Balkan.
bukdow 04-14-2008, 08:54 AM bukdow, is it wrong for a 19 year old to date a 15 year old?
Well, there is the statutory rape issue. However, it seems to me a 19 year old would have very little in common with a 15 year old beyond tab A into slot B.
bukdow 04-14-2008, 08:55 AM bukdow, in your your opinion, who is the better singer? Gordon Lightfoot or Neil Diamond?
Tough one. Both are iconic figures, but when I look at the body of work, I have to go with Neil Diamond.
Timone 04-14-2008, 09:05 AM bukdow, am I going to Hell?
bukdow 04-14-2008, 11:51 AM bukdow, am I going to Hell?
Well, the conventional Christian theology would say that if you have not accepted Jesus as your savior, then you are going to Hell. I don`t believe it is quite like that. Sometimes, I don`t think anyone is going to Hell.
If there is a Hell, I certainly don`t believe it is the "fire and brimstone" Hell that is perpetuated by humans as a fear tactic. I think Hell is an absence of God. Put more tangibly, if you die without a relationship with God (not necessarily the Christian God), thats it, you just die. You don`t go to Heaven, nor Hell, your soul just ceases to be.

Well then if dying without a relationship with God means you just die and not go to hell, than what does anybody have to lose by being a Christian?
If you are a Christian, which I am, and there really is a heaven/hell, which I believe, than you will benefit from it when you die, whereas if your not a Chrsitian and there is a heaven/hell you will regret it.
So following that theory, if a man does believe in God, and there is no heaven or hell, than he really has nothing to lose as far as where they will go when they die.
So the person who doesn't believe in God, at least on it's surface, has nothing to gain but everything to lose, and the person who does believe in God has everything to gain and nothing to lose.
Zekyl 04-14-2008, 01:21 PM Unless you don't enjoy your life to the fullest because you are a Christian, then die and there's nothing and you wasted your life.
Not saying I believe one way or the other, just trying to promote some discussion.
Vinny 04-14-2008, 02:05 PM Mr. Bukdow, what did you do yesterday?
[Please note that this question was asked on the 12th so it is actually referring to what you did on the 11th.]

Well, I don`t know about you, but I, as a Christian, very much enjoy having a relationship with God and find it difficult to imagine not having one. Regardless of Heaven or Hell.
My point is that the conventional ideas of Heaven and Hell are, in my opinion, merely human constructs. What the hell (no pun intended) do I care about pearly gates and steets of gold? Those were images created for the mind of man to be able to grasp on to. The same thing goes for Hell. I believe it is just more hyperbole meant to "scare people straight".
If you need the ideas of reward and punishment hanging over your head to make you a follower of Christ, then you are missing the point entirely.

I don't buy into religion, but if I'm wrong and all of that is true, then I have no problem with my soul just ceasing after I die (as opposed to burning for an eternity).
Timone 04-14-2008, 10:47 PM bukdow, I know you're all about honesty, but what do you think about the "Don't Snitch" code that is imposed on the streets (where I'm from)?
Timone 04-14-2008, 10:54 PM buk, Josh Groban: does he suck more than Michael Bolton, less than Michael Bolton, or do they suck just as much as each other?
Wilfredo Ledezma 04-14-2008, 11:17 PM bukdow, if you were to start an NBA franchise, and had to choose between Antoine Walker or Cuttino Mobley to be the "foundation" to build off of, which of the two would you pick, and why?

Vinny 04-14-2008, 11:26 PM Mr. Bukdow, how about that Michael Buble?
Have you ever seen the episode of Las Vegas where they have him pretend to be a mime and do the "Buble in a Bubble"?
Timone 04-14-2008, 11:34 PM bukdow, what did you do on the 11th?
Timone 04-14-2008, 11:39 PM bukdow, can you do the Carlton Dance?

Timone 04-14-2008, 11:46 PM bukdow, can you do the Carlton Dance?
And if so, is it just me or does it NOT WORK unless you do it to "It's Not Unusual" by Tom Jones?
Vinny 04-15-2008, 03:38 AM Mr. Bukdow, have you ever been to that Chinese restaurant on the south side in Chicago's Chinatown where they have all different "volcanoe" drinks for 10.95 each? (That's why I was asking about Buble, they were playing him the whole time we were there the other night and I had no idea who he was but my friend clued me in...)
Wilfredo Ledezma 04-15-2008, 09:10 AM bukdow, have you ever seen the movie The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe? And if so, how stoked are you to see the sequel in May?
bukdow 04-15-2008, 11:38 AM bukdow, is your wife a sports fan?
No, but she doesn`t begrudge my love of sports.
bukdow 04-15-2008, 11:39 AM [Please note that this question was asked on the 12th so it is actually referring to what you did on the 11th.]
I worked half a day and then had a "family day".
bukdow 04-15-2008, 11:41 AM bukdow, I know you're all about honesty, but what do you think about the "Don't Snitch" code that is imposed on the streets (where I'm from)?
I think you have to look at the big picture. If what you are snitching on is destroying the community, then snitch. If somebody is having a difficult time and has been forced to do some unsavory things, try to help that person rather than snitching.
bukdow 04-15-2008, 11:42 AM buk, Josh Groban: does he suck more than Michael Bolton, less than Michael Bolton, or do they suck just as much as each other?
I don`t know who Josh Groban is, but Michael Bolton certainly does suck a lot.
bukdow 04-15-2008, 11:43 AM bukdow, if you were to start an NBA franchise, and had to choose between Antoine Walker or Cuttino Mobley to be the "foundation" to build off of, which of the two would you pick, and why?
I am not sufficiently familiar with either player enough to make that determination.
bukdow 04-15-2008, 11:44 AM Mr. Bukdow, are Randy Johnson's control problems legit or are these just first start jitters?
Randy Johnson`s days are over.
bukdow 04-15-2008, 11:45 AM Mr. Bukdow, how about that Michael Buble?
Have you ever seen the episode of Las Vegas where they have him pretend to be a mime and do the "Buble in a Bubble"?
I am not familiar with Michael Buble or the show Las Vegas.
bukdow 04-15-2008, 11:45 AM bukdow, can you do the Carlton Dance?
No.
bukdow 04-15-2008, 11:46 AM Bukdow, are you a Vietnam Vet? is the nickname "bukdow" derived from what Vietnamese women called you back in Saigon?
No, I am not a military veteran.
bukdow 04-15-2008, 11:47 AM Mr.
No, but it sounds fun. My wife and I go to a local chinese restaurant and we order a bunch of the over-the-top mixed drinks and take a cab home.
bukdow 04-15-2008, 11:48 AM bukdow, have you ever seen the movie The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe? And if so, how stoked are you to see the sequel in May?
I have not seen any of the movies, but I read the books when I was a kid. Additionally, I would recommend the book The Screwtape Letters, also written by C.S. Lewis.
Timone 04-15-2008, 01:32 PM No, but she doesn`t begrudge my love of sports.
She hates Michigan though, right?
MoTown 04-15-2008, 01:43 PM bukdow,

Just curious.
Wilfredo Ledezma 04-15-2008, 02:58 PM bukdow, will Michigan State start the '08 football season with a win @ Cal?

I dunno, but unlike you I'm going to get to watch it.
DON'T SPOIL IT!
bukdow 04-16-2008, 06:00 AM She hates Michigan though, right?
She also finds UM to be pretentious and the legions of Wal-Mart Wolverines to be very annoying.
bukdow 04-16-2008, 06:01 AM bukdow,
Who are your top 3 favorite and least favorite posters here at WTFDetroit?
I don`t have any either way.
bukdow 04-16-2008, 06:03 AM bukdow, have you ever been to Dollywood?
Yes. When I was young my parents and I would go to Florida every winter and on the way we would stop at Gatlinburg, TN, which is right near Dollywood. On a lark, we checked it out. It was kind of weird.
bukdow 04-16-2008, 06:05 AM bukdow, will Michigan State start the '08 football season with a win @ Cal?
Also, will Ohio State win their game @ USC, and will Michigan beat Utah?
I don`t think MSU will win at Cal. If the game is in Columbus, OSU has a decent chance. Yes, I think UM will beat Utah, but it is going to be closer than many would like.
Timone 04-16-2008, 01:25 PM Do you have the Big Ten Network, buk? If you do, Michigan-Michigan State (football) replay is on.
Timone 04-16-2008, 01:56 PM buk, regarding Wal-Mart Wolverines: I find them to be annoying myself, but how do you know that they AREN'T alums? I mean, I'm sure it's possible that some people who attended the University shop there and wear pleather.
Vinny 04-21-2008, 06:38 PM Mr. Bukdow, what have you been up to? Where have you been the last week? I have been pretty busy myself.
Tahoe 04-22-2008, 02:10 PM Buk, what do you think of the Big Tuna signing Jake Long?
Glenn 04-23-2008, 06:26 AM Bukdow,
How would you feel if Tom Izzo left East Lansing for the Bulls? Betrayed?
bukdow 04-24-2008, 02:30 PM Buk, what do you think of the Big Tuna signing Jake Long?
I think Jake Long is a very good left tackle and the OL is a good place to start rebuilding a team. The Lions could learn a thing or two from that approach. Enough WRs!
MoTown 04-24-2008, 02:31 PM Bukdow! Where have you been?
bukdow 04-24-2008, 02:32 PM Bukdow,
How would you feel if Tom Izzo left East Lansing for the Bulls? Betrayed?
Izzo has done great things for MSU. However, at this point, I think some new blood would be a good thing. I am not calling for Izzo to leave, but if he does, I think MSU could probably get damn near any coach they wanted.
bukdow 04-24-2008, 02:32 PM Bukdow! Where have you been?
Busy with work and family.
Wilfredo Ledezma 04-27-2008, 10:42 PM bukdow, thoughts on Mike Hart being taken by Indianapolis? With Kenton Keith's legal troubles, he's a mortal lock to make the team, don't you think?
bukdow 04-28-2008, 03:22 PM bukdow, thoughts on Mike Hart being taken by Indianapolis? With Kenton Keith's legal troubles, he's a mortal lock to make the team, don't you think?
I am not very familiar with the Colts` RB situation. Although the artificial turf may help Hart`s speed, it will not help his ability to block/effectively pick up blitzers, nor will it make him more durable.
Timone 04-29-2008, 12:54 AM How did you find WTFDetroit anyway?
Glenn 05-02-2008, 04:04 PM Bukdow, can I get your opinion of this? (http://www.girlsofmsu.com/galleries.php)
DrRay11 05-04-2008, 01:29 PM bukdow, I am considering starting a rap project with the name "Dr. Ray." It is a good name and all, but I feel people will feel like I am copying Dr. Dre. How do I approach this situation?
Glenn 05-04-2008, 04:02 PM Maybe go with something like "Dr. Tre"?
DennyMcLain 05-05-2008, 01:30 PM Maybe go with something like "Dr. Tre"?

DennyMcLain 05-08-2008, 08:19 PM O where art thou, Bukdow? Yearn for thy return.
bukdow 05-09-2008, 03:35 PM What is a typical "bukdow birthday celebration" like?
The day you posted this (May 8) was indeed my birthday. Thats a little weird and now wonder who you are and how you know me.
(Hi there! - The Syndicate...)
Vinny 05-09-2008, 03:37 PM Mr. Bukdow, do you realize how truly far the power and influence of the Syndicate reaches? They're everywhere!Even in your own post!
Glenn 05-09-2008, 03:37 PM The day you posted this (May 8) was indeed my birthday. Thats a little weird and now wonder who you are and how you know me.
I know more than you think.
bukdow 05-09-2008, 03:39 PM I know more than you think.
Hmmm. I will have to keep my eyes and ears open for you.

DrRay11 05-09-2008, 06:33 PM Top of page 36.
bukdow 05-09-2008, 06:45 PM bukdow, I am considering starting a rap project with the name "Dr. Ray." It is a good name and all, but I feel people will feel like I am copying Dr. Dre. How do I approach this situation?
I agree. I think "Dr. Ray" is too close to the very well known Dr. Dre. I would also suggest you stay away from "Eazy D".
Timone 05-09-2008, 06:55 PM bukdow, I am finally getting my life together and am also trying to get away from my bad influences. How do I go about doing that without getting killed (even though that's what Glenn wants)?
bukdow 05-09-2008, 07:01 PM bukdow, I am finally getting my life together and am also trying to get away from my bad influences. How do I go about doing that without getting killed (even though that's what Glenn wants)?
Maybe you should just do what Glenn wants. Just kidding. Just be inconspicuous. Change your behavior subtly and steadily. Don`t stand out and say, "Hey, everyone, I am changing my behavior and you all are bad influences."
Timone 05-09-2008, 07:04 PM I don't want to brag or anything, but I'm kind of a good looking guy. People know this. I haven't shaved or had my hair cut in quite a while though, so I'm currently sporting the caveman/junkie look. People around me don't really like it, but I've become a severely apathetic person and don't mind it much.
My question, should I "clean myself up (that's how others put it)"?

I had long hair for 7 years. Never could do the beard though. Just too itchy. I got my job when I had long hair, so its not necessary to "clean up" entirely. However, you should definitely be, and stay, clean (in a hygienic sense).
Timone 05-09-2008, 07:18 PM Like I said, I'm an apathetic person. I'm very nice, but I just can't control my feelings (or lack thereof), so people might get the wrong impression about me. What's wrong with me?
Timone 05-09-2008, 07:23 PM However, you should definitely be, and stay, clean (in a hygienic sense).
Yeah, I do. I shower about once a week.
Just kidding.

You are apathetic and lack self-control.

Sometimes people piss other people off and they hold grudges. It happens. What did you do to piss Glenn off?

People ascribe a certain mystery to them. Not a mystery that is based in reality, but one from the ascriber`s mind. In short, the recluse is romanticized (e.g. J.D. Salinger)
Timone 06-23-2008, 11:33 AM Damn... I was hoping for you to say this:

bukdow 06-30-2008, 06:32 PM bukdow, can you please settle the argument going on in the "LOL @ FOX NEWS" thread by telling us why PBS is actually the best? In no less than a thousand words, please.
FOX News is a vehicle for making money. That is, it is portraying "news" in a certain way to gain viewers (i.e. simple-minded "conservative" Americans) and advertisers. PBS is not beholden to advertisors the same way FOX is. Watch The News Hour with Jim Lehrer and then tell me if FOX has anything even remotely close in terms of objectivity and quality.

bukdow 07-05-2008, 09:02 AM Mr. Bukdow, the Industrial Revolution changed the face of the modern novel forever. Discuss, citing specific examples?
The Jungle by Sinclair, all of the Horatio Alger tripe and some of Steinbeck`s stuff (The Grapes of Wrath and Of Mice and Men, specifically).
Intertwined with the effect of the Industrial Revolution is the Immigrant Experience. Mainly due to the fact that many, many immigrants fueled the Industrial Revolution with their cheap, desperate labor. Again The Jungle illustrates this relationship and, in a more social/cultural sense, the novel Call It Sleep by Roth.
Good question, Vinny.

I think the whole idea of "you are attacking me" has become overblown. Many people have become limp-wristed wusses and feel like they are being attacked if you don`t agree they are a genius for walking and chewing gum at the same time.

NOW: Here is the real problem: I don't even want to look at Pornhub and whack off uncontrollably all weekend any longer. God, man, what is WRONG with me? All those bitchez, they all take it up the ass, and I don't even care!
Oh god, I know what you're going to say: I've turned gay. Well, I wanted to know so I watched my neighbor Tim shovel his snow for an hour last week and nope, no boner. I would think watching a big, burly guy like Tim do real man's work would give me a boner, but all it did was convince me to give him a twenty to shovel my snow.

Glenn 01-17-2010, 03:53 PM I realize that it might take a few years to get this one answered (maybe the next time MSU wins a big game of some sort), but I'll post this question here time capsule style.
I took my kids bowling this morning because they asked, and because they're great kids and they like it. Buk, when your kids ask you to take them bowling, how exactly do you refuse? Tell them about the trashy people that hang out at bowling alleys? Explain about the millions of germs?
Gla, when you have 2 degree you simply explain the metaphysics involved and the children turn from their dark notions of rolling in the filth of poverty.
Glenn 03-23-2013, 09:23 PM Hey Bukky,
Did you get royalties for this?
