So 6:18 is the kick off time apparently. Very odd.

FUCK! I forgot to make the poll results viewable.

Tahoe

I should do an SB OGT too, so the mods have something to do tommorow.

Timone

I'm legit fucking up here.I'm not even trying to.

Make the thread, Tahoe!

Tahoe

I can't even get started. I can't get it to come up with...nvm.

Timone
01-20-2008, 10:54 PM
Since I fucked up, I'll need everyone who votes to say who they voted for. Thanks.

Anyway, as for the game...Belichick is going to have 2 weeks to prepare. Sucks.

DrRay11

I'm going the easy route and saying the Patriots will complete the perfect season.

Fuck the WTFDetroit FAQ thread, we need the "Tahoe's 'How to post a poll' thread".

MoTown

Either way a Wolverine gets a ring, so I don't care much. Though it would be nice to prevent Plax from getting one.

Whoever voted for the Giants: SHOW YOURSELF!!

Look, I don't like the Pats. I like Brady (not very much though), but there is no way in fuck these guys don't win this SB. And unlike the other three this WON'T be by only 3 points.

Tahoe
01-22-2008, 01:13 AM
Giants are getting 11.5

Jethro34
01-22-2008, 07:11 AM
I also think the Giants have no chance, but you know the media would love it so they could run the headline: Giant shocker!

By the way, why does that seem more to me like a Jim Rome take about a guy with big hands?

Timone
01-22-2008, 07:18 AM
Sure, I'd love to see the Giants to pull it off too.

Wouldn't it be some shit if a MANNING wins the SB the last 2 years?

fuck Tom Brady's butt chin

How can you not cheer for this kid from San Mateo?

Timone
01-22-2008, 09:45 AM
I would, if I was a San Francisco 49ers fan.

I can't remember who it was, but back in the days of when I would browse the board and I hadn't joined yet, there was somebody (a Sparty) who said that Michigan can't claim Brady, that there should be an exception.

Tahoe. Zekyl as well (seeing as how the Browns are gay).

Speaking of that fruit Zekyl, remember when he tried telling us that his girlfriend was laying on his bed in just a shirt...and yet he still wasn't tapping it? LMFAO

Glenn
01-22-2008, 11:36 AM
I have a Tom Brady story for you guys.

Back when Brady was still starting at UM, I went out with this chick a few times who was from San Mateo. She claimed that she was "best friends" with "Tommy" (as she called him) and I called bullshit. She picks up the phone and calls him, says hello and tells him that she has somebody that she wants him to talk to and then hands me the phone.

I can't remember WTF I said to him, something stupid like, "great game last week" or something. I'm sure he remembers, though. So, how's that for a tenuous connection?

Anyways, Brady apparently went out last night in NYC (with Gisele) wearing a walking boot on his right foot. (They were at a club called "Butter", FWIW and Leo D. was there, too.)

I was just listening to Cowherd and he thinks that it's all a sham to take attention off Randy Moss' struggles and to deflect attention/pressure from "the pursuit of perfection".

Fool
01-22-2008, 11:48 AM
"great game last week"

That's clutch.

I would have said "How do I get in this chicks pants? His reply would have been "Be Tom Brady". Of course.

sports media is such a joke. if the sports media were real media, atleast one investigative reporter would actually find out the deal on brady's ankle. find out what hospital/ doctor he saw, if the doctor wont spill the beans a nurse or a receptionist, or a janitor im sure would love to be the "deepthroat" of anklegate.

Plexiglass and that shithead Steeler (Anthony Smith, Glenn?... am I right, Glenn?) will never learn.

Timone

Anthony Smith and the Steelers are dead to me.

Jethro34
01-30-2008, 12:56 PM
Plex doesn't even know how to be cocky. He tries, but cocky isn't a 6 point victory. Have a little confidence that you can score two TD's, plus another for Jacobs and a 4th to Toomer. Give your kicker 3 tries to hit one FG and at least bump it to 31 points. Keep the Pats at 17 and you've predicted a 2 TD victory. Still not excessively cocky, but more in line with what a top WR should be predicting. You don't hear Moss, TO, Chad Johnson, or others saying they'll win by a couple FGs. FGs? We don't need no stinkin FGs.

Timone
01-30-2008, 12:59 PM
At least it'd be a good game, unlike the last two Superbowls. That 06 Steelers-Seahawks was a terrible, boring piece of crap game. The game last year wasn't very good either.

Zekyl
01-30-2008, 01:09 PM
Maybe he's keeping the score close in his predictions so as not to anger the Patriot-gods. They won't feel insulted if he's predicting they barely win, because he HAS to predict his team wins. He couldn't predict the Pats to win or his team would completely turn on him.

Jethro34
01-30-2008, 01:46 PM
That would be the intelligent move, which is why I'm not willing to accept that Plexiglass did it. Remember, this is the guy that stretched out to catch a pass for a first down, went untouched, and promptly jumped up and spiked the balling, turning it over to the other team.
Intelligent moves >>>>>>>Plexiglass

Everybody is making a big deal out of the Giants winning ten road games in a rwo. Anyone notice that the Patriots have won eight road games in a row???

I'm sensing the same stupidity that over took alot of people who began to think Ohio State would beat LSU (ahem). Many are now saying they like the Giants. I don't.
I want all of you to mortgage your homes, your bank accounts, and take it all and bet on the Patriots.
You'll thank me later.

Jethro34
01-30-2008, 06:29 PM
The Giants gave all they had to beat a Patriots team that was on autopilot at the end of the season - and they could beat them then.
Now with the Patriots playing for something that brings immortality, the Giants don't stand a chance.

So, let's get into the mood a little...

What are your most memorable SB moments? Mine would have to be when the Lio--wait, nevermind.

When Mike Jones stopped Dyson one yard short as time expired in the St. Louis-Tennessee game. I felt like my heart had been ripped out because I was rooting for the Titans in that game. Plus watching McNair try to engineer that comeback made me a fan of his (until he became a Raven).

I've been rooting for the underdogs/NFC teams, since about 04 (Panthers, Eagles, Seahawks, and Bears). In 02 I actually was the only one in my house who picked the Pats to beat the Rams and so I was rooting for them. In 03 I think I was rooting for the Raiders (no fucking clue why).

Trent Dilfer: best QB in Ravens history. ugh...

Too bad that was 7 years ago. :emo kid:

Zekyl
01-31-2008, 05:49 PM
Too bad you can make that statement.

Trent was a good QB, but mostly in the sense that he wouldn't fuck things up for you. For the most part he wouldn't win the game for you, but he wouldn't lose it either.

Timone
01-31-2008, 05:52 PM
Yeah.

Who in Ravens history is better than Dilfer? Elvis fucking Grbac? Kyle Boller? Definitely not Checkdown McNair.

Keep in mind I think Dilfer sucks and fucking always has.

IMO a team's defense has never been let down more times than the Ravens'.

EDIT: I misread initially and thought you disagreed.

Zekyl
01-31-2008, 06:05 PM
Grbac wasn't horrible when he was with the Chiefs. He wasn't very good, but he wasn't horrible. Then again, he wasn't good at all with the Ravens iirc. Beyond that, you'd have to go to their Browns days to find a good quarterback ever. If I was Ray Lewis, I'd be livid! All those years of having a dominant defense, his entire prime, wasted because the team never got anything resembling a solid NFL qb.

Timone
01-31-2008, 06:08 PM
2000 Ravens = Best defense the last 20 years IMO, some even say best ever...and one of the most dominant SB performances (Gotta put TB in 03 up there as well).

He runs like a hershel walker without speed.

Timone
02-03-2008, 06:41 PM
Yeah, physical backs like Jacobs don't last long, which sucks.

Zekyl
02-03-2008, 06:41 PM
Peyton made it back to the SB after all. pwnt.
HAHAHA!!!

Tahoe
02-03-2008, 06:42 PM
Earl Campbell was the shit, Zek. Don't know if you remember him playing or not.

Timone
02-03-2008, 06:42 PM

Zekyl

Poor choice throwing into double coverage there. Almost picked

Tahoe
02-03-2008, 06:43 PM
Teddy B went to Az St, iirc.

Timone
02-03-2008, 06:43 PM
Yeah, Earl was da man.

Jim Brown goes without saying as well.

Zekyl
02-03-2008, 06:43 PM
I remember hearing about him but I don't think I ever saw him.

Tahoe
02-03-2008, 06:43 PM
3 nothing after this drive? Very probable.

Tahoe
02-03-2008, 06:44 PM
I vaguely remember Jim Brown. Earl Campbell, I remember well.

Timone
02-03-2008, 06:44 PM
Damn. It's gotta suck when you go on a methodical 9+ minute drive and you only end up with 3.

Points iz points though.

Zekyl
02-03-2008, 06:45 PM
How confident can NYG be about their kicker right now? At least he drilled that one, but after last week?

Zekyl
02-03-2008, 06:46 PM
Wow, that Pepsi Smash commercial somewhat annoyed me, great song though.

Tahoe
02-03-2008, 06:46 PM
I'm sure he was happy as fuck to get that one through, even though it knuckled through.

Timone
02-03-2008, 06:47 PM
He made it eventually, Zek.

Tahoe
02-03-2008, 06:47 PM
Agree on Pepsi, I thought the Godfather comersh was the best so far.

Timone
02-03-2008, 06:55 PM
It's funny to me. Pats fans have to admit, win or lose, the media tried their best to get the Pats to this point by trying to making a big deal out of small comments, Spygate, and the like.

Sean Salisbury probably surfed the net for "bulletin board material" so he could help fuel the Pats. That fucking chump.

Tahoe
02-03-2008, 06:55 PM
Thats good Zek. My brother and I had a big falling out a few years back and it sucked. Its stupid cuz our parents died a million years ago. Keep that relationship strong.

Ok, enough emo shit back to FOOTBALL!

Zekyl
02-03-2008, 06:56 PM
Karl, that is SO true. The media had their backs 100%

Timone
02-03-2008, 06:56 PM

ESPN analysts said all week they were going to go to him early.

Timone
02-03-2008, 06:59 PM
Little Bro predicted (not the same thing as guaranteeing) a 23-17 win and Sal Paolantonio, I think it was, was on ESPN saying he guaranteed a Giants victory.

Igor Olshansky said nothing that didn't indicate that the Chargers were just going to show up and play hard and ESPN acted like he also guaranteed a win.

Jacobs is an f'ing train.

Even though I love Woodson, he'll tell ya.

Tahoe
02-03-2008, 07:34 PM

Tahoe
02-03-2008, 07:36 PM

02-03-2008, 07:40 PM
I don't think the Giants can keep making these mistakes.

Zekyl
02-03-2008, 07:40 PM
I like Barkley even more now that he's pissing off Wade in that commercial.

Tahoe
02-03-2008, 07:40 PM
I think its time to insert some dumb questions in this thread...for halftime.

So is the game sold out?

Timone
02-03-2008, 07:42 PM
How about them Pistons? Back on track, man. 5 in a row.

Zekyl
02-03-2008, 07:42 PM
That set of commercials was MUCH better. I loved the Giant rat.

Tahoe
02-03-2008, 07:42 PM
Is the game being blacked out?

Tahoe
02-03-2008, 07:43 PM
OK, I guess that didn't work.

Timone
02-03-2008, 07:43 PM
Damn, I thought that'd be picked.

Has Brady even thrown an INT in the Superbowl before?

Tahoe
02-03-2008, 07:44 PM
Who does Tom Brady play for again?

Zekyl
02-03-2008, 07:44 PM
Way to not give up on that play by Tuck. Missed the tackle then got up and chased him down.

Tahoe
02-03-2008, 07:44 PM
That'd be sweet for NYGs to get 3 here.

Timone
02-03-2008, 07:45 PM
Who does Tom Brady play for again?

The other team, if you know what I mean.

Zekyl
02-03-2008, 07:45 PM
Who would it be blacked out for? The home team fans, or the fans that live in the area where the stadium is?

Tahoe
02-03-2008, 07:45 PM
Brady could've gotten hurt there.

Timone
02-03-2008, 07:46 PM
For a low scoring game, this has been pretty entertaining.

Tahoe
02-03-2008, 07:47 PM
Does this game count for anything?

Timone
02-03-2008, 07:47 PM
Bill, the Patriots barely wear any red.

Zekyl
02-03-2008, 07:48 PM
There you go Karl, they showed your Ravens.

Zekyl
02-03-2008, 07:48 PM
Count for anything? Like what? Every game is equal right? So this is equal to a preseason game.

Tahoe
02-03-2008, 07:49 PM
I hope NE doesn't score so this game doesn't turn into utter shit.

Zekyl
02-03-2008, 07:49 PM
Utter shit sucks!

Tahoe
02-03-2008, 07:49 PM
Zek, do they play best of 7?

Tahoe
02-03-2008, 07:51 PM
They need to put some more time on the clock. UminUrine downed that ball at 13 ticks left.

Tahoe
02-03-2008, 07:52 PM
I seriously would've thrown a red flag if I was TC. put some time back.

Zekyl
02-03-2008, 07:52 PM
I'm not sure. I think they have some sort of round-robin format, so they can get Favre in there at some point.

Tahoe
02-03-2008, 07:58 PM
halftime started at roughly 4:53

I'm thinking you could prolly go read War and Peace during a SB halftime.

Timone
02-03-2008, 07:59 PM
I'll go catch up on recruiting.

Zekyl
02-03-2008, 08:01 PM
