I agree that Brady struggled too (although his numbers turned out okay, it seems like they lie in this case).

I was wondering if he hurt his arm when they stripped the ball out on that fumble, but the pundits are all saying this morning that his ankle was hurt worse than they let on.

He played poorly in the AFC Championship game too, so it does seem like something was off.

Belichick running off the field early was very punkish.

His arm looked fine to me. Its hard to hit randy moss in stride 70+ yards down the field. His ankle? An excuse, nothing more or less.

Good point about the 70+ yard throws, can't do that with an injured arm.

Something still looked off to me.

Maybe he forgot to wear the Stetson.

i think getting hit bothered him.

football is won in the trenches, and NYG's d line dominated.

how are the lions' lines, btw?

I think his ankle was a factor. There were a couple times he could have pulled down the ball and rand for 8 yards at least (and not on third downs either) and he didn't even try. He forced the ball to triple covered WR's instead. I think a combination of his ankle and the Giants constant pressure threw him off his game. He played like an average QB last night.

I definitely thought the MVP should have gone to someone on the Giants defense. I'm fine wiht Eli getting it, he came up huge in that game, but their defense definitely won the game. Only problem is, I couldn't think of anyone on their defense that stood out enough to get the award. They played as one unit, did everything as a team (exactly they way the should have played), and unfortunately that left no one standing out as the key. Umenyiora looked like he could have been it in the first half, then he just sort of faded back into the group in the second half. Still, 6 knockdowns, 2 sacks and a forced fumble in the first half is VERY impressive against the Patriots. If I was Eli, I would have said the MVP deserves to go to the whole defense, and I would have let them pass the MVP trophy around. Did they even give him a trophy? I saw them hand him the car keys but never saw a trophy.

I agree that Brady's ankle was hurt worse than they let on, and the beatings he took probably didn;t help.

What amazed me were three instances where Bellichik was outcoached badly:

1) Going for the 4th and 13, and not kicking a 49 yard field goal. The Pats don;t have Vinateiri, but their kicker is pretty damn good, and a 49 yard kick indoors is pretty much automatic in the NFL.
2) Not pulling Moss inside and using him on shorter routes earlier in the game. When they finally did it, they scored the TD to go up 14-10.
3) I thought a couple running plays on that last drive when they had 1st and goal from the seven yard line would have been smart. You have 2:49 left, and one play either takes you to the two minute warning or the Giants have to burn time outs. Once they got to the seven, they took all of about four seconds off the clock with those three pass plays.

Not a good showing by the Patriots offense and their coaching staff. Their defense was great also, but ran out of gas on those last two Giant drives. The Gianst imposed their will on New England, and the NE coaches didn't respond.

It looked a lot better in game speed though.

It's easy to give it to Eli, the guy who threw the GW pass, when everyone on that defense played well.

That being said, Brady lost. I don't care how or why, but he did. :)

The fact he was knocked off his feet 18 times had something to do with it, for sure.

I think he showed that he is a true Michigan Man though.

He seems to be handling the loss with dignity (unlike his coach).

Michigan Men really know how to lose the big games.

(EXCEPT FOR WHEN THEY BEAT FLORIDA)

He has 3 SB rings and his team will be one of the favorites to go to the SB next year, so of course he's going to take it with dignity.

I'm a little confused as to why so many people are calling this "The Best Superbowl Ever." It was certainly a good final 10 minutes, but did those people forget to watch the first 3+ quarters. That was the most boring thing I have ever seen.

Timone

NE-Carolina is the greatest SB ever imo.

The game before the 4th quarter, while only 7-3, was still entertaining in a way to me.

I agree. I was not entertained at all. It was really sloppy (terrible blocking). The end was certainly entertaining, but overall it was bad.

BTW, I didn't understand how the Giants got the ball on that one fumble. The NE guy recovered it and laid down on it. The refs sat on their thumbs and eventually a Giant got in there and ripped it out. That was terrible officiating. It wasn't like one of those piles that you have to sort out. They should have seen that from a mile away.

Timone

I wouldn't say this one was sloppy. Sloppy was last year's.

Defense just isn't entertaining.

I thought it was an entertaining game. It was a much more defensive game, but still entertaining. Like the Pistons championship?

I'm a fan of Defense, so i thought it was the best one with the ram/titans one second. the carolina pats one was just ok to me. it was actually fairly lame for good portion itself. At least through the first half.

That one's second to me too. That's the one that really hit me hard, because I was rooting hard for Tennessee in that game.

I think it was a big game for peeps who root for underdogs. I mean lots of peeps just wanted David to be Goliath. It happened. It was pretty awesome.

I would have felt a let down if NE would have won. This was way WAY better.

I'm probably the only one here that likes Joe Buck.

I enjoyed the way he called it..."Burress, alone! Touchdown New York!"

lol @ Strahan's humility at the parade.

"To every other team in the NFL and the last team we defeated, the New England Patriots: WE STOMPED YOU OUT!" then he proceeded to jump up and stomp the ground with the rest of the team.

Classic.
