Giving blood

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/worldnews/article-1259627/Man-golden-arm-James-Harrison-saves-2million-babies-half-century-donating-rare-blood.html

An Australian man who has been donating his extremely rare kind of blood for 56 years has saved the lives of more than two million babies.

James Harrison, 74, has an antibody in his plasma that stops babies dying from Rhesus disease, a form of severe anaemia.

He has enabled countless mothers to give birth to healthy babies, including his own daughter, Tracey, who had a healthy son thanks to her father's blood.

Mr Harrison has been giving blood every few weeks since he was 18 years old and has now racked up a total of 984 donations.

I clicked this thread to say that I've had fun at work the last couple days. I mostly finished setting up 6 servers, and it's a pretty cool setup overall. All cloud servers, 4 behind a private subnet with a couple forward-facing servers hooked in with them. I actually like getting calls from peeps trying to sell me stuff. I used to hate it, but now I like to mess with them. Grab a handful of peanuts and start chewing, burp, but just keep talking, asking questions that are not understandable and answering questions the same way. They friggin WON'T HANG UP. lol

Picked up a nice Husqvarna leaf blower today at Lowes, the backpack type.

WAY better than the Black & Decker I've been trying to get by with for the last 10 years or so!!!

This time of year. Cooler weather. Rainy. Love it! But Fox and Friends (which I know y'all watch) had some lady on, telling viewers how to avoid depression or some shit like that because of less sunlight this time of year. I was like... are you fuckin kidding me? This is the best time of the year. Football, Basketball, pheasant hunting, fishing if that's your thing, feeling like that extra fat you carry around on your midsection actually has meaning. Those sorts of things.

So sorry to bash y'alls favorite show, but that was bad.

Was thisclose to trashing my 2.5 year old iPhone and dropping $600 on a replacement. Had been acting odd, plus the battery was doing weird stuff (like dropping from 80% to 1% then back to 80%). Decided to price out a new battery, thinking it would be 100 bucks or more. Was surprised to find a place that would do it for $39, and after two days, it looks like it has fixed all of the problems. Cha ching.

If you're ever in the market for deli meats while in Ann Arbor, get some pastrami from Sparrow Market in Kerrytown. It is the best pastrami I've ever had. Smoky as a campfire. Pair it with two slices of Jewish rye from Zingerman's and a bit of spicy brown mustard and you have the perfect sandwich. Ate one an hour ago and I can still taste it.

Duly noted. I get out to Kerrytown once every ~3 months, and almost always get something from Sparrow's (and Monahan's, the fish place). Thanks!
