    Around the NBA (May 2009)

Dalembert requested a trade from the Sixers.

That team is a mess all of a sudden.

Theo and Andre Miller skipped the final team meeting and both are free agents expected to leave.

    Parting ways?
Samuel Dalembert wants out of the Sixers, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer

Maybe "requested a trade" is a bit of a leap on my part. He did request one earlier this year, it says.

Before the NBA's trading deadline, Dalembert requested a trade, believing he was not being used properly. Sixers general manager Ed Stefanski tried, unsuccessfully, to trade Dalembert, who will be paid approximately $11.4 million next season and $12.2 million the year after.

Dalembert's contract is about as desired, and easy to ship, as a boat anchor.

"The frustration came down to, [in] the beginning, we were losing and I wasn't playing much," Dalembert said.

--though I'm sure he wouldn't be pissed to be peddled now.

They still have a relatively decent young core in Iggy, Thaddeus, Speights, and Lou Williams

Dalembert will be tough to move

Let's just assume they are one of the teams calling. What else would they need to include for us to take Dalembert?

One 1st round pick, unprotected? Two?

What have they got that we might want

(And Glenn: Andre Miller in a sign and trade is not something we want)

Dalembert isn't worth 1 first round pick. Guy grabs 8 boards a game and fouls too much to stay on the court. He's Amir with playing time.

It's our fault that Dalembert got paid what he did, by performing relatively well in a playoff series against us where the refs didn't call many fouls.
