Pistons to retire Rodman's number on 4/1/11

Perfect day for him. I thought it was a joke at first, but it's legit.

Will be cool to see some Rodman/Big Ben interaction ( :nh: ).

Monroe will continue to wear #10, but it will never be re-issued after that.

THe timing of this is just strange, I wonder if this was one of Mr D's dying wishes? Otherwise you'd think they wouldn't tinker with Mr Gores' new toy until he got a chance to kick it around awhile.

If the Detroit Pistons want to honor Dennis Rodman, the team could retire his tax debt, not his jersey. According to public records, the retired rebounder owes more than $42,000 in delinquent taxes to the state of California.

Rodman's business manager, however, disputes the debt.

The lien is surfacing as Rodman, 49, approaches a possible career milestone. Rodman, who was paid more than $26.9 million during his career, should learn this week whether he is a finalist for the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame, and his jersey will be retired by the Pistons on April 1.

This whole Rodman thing has a WWE feel to it, especially all of the "backstage" shots of him.

    I'm kind of feelin it.

I remember when he came into the league, of course, and it was a good time.

Is Zeke gonna be there? 1 in 99?
