Nobody? Time to let the cat out of the bag then.

The Detroit Lions' pursuit of at least one victory in 2009 will have to come without Rod Marinelli, who is out as coach, ESPN's Chris Mortensen reports.

The decision was made Monday morning.

The Lions' 31-21 loss to the Green Bay Packers on Sunday capped an 0-16 season -- the first in NFL history.

I'm actually surprised by this. I figured Ford liked him too much to fire him.

I figured that he wouldn't want to pay another coach.

This is a good sign if you hope that they'll bring in a "real" boss, though.

Any new leader is going to want his own coach, anyways.

Meyhew will have to find a coach that fits his GM style.

Not a shocker. I didn't see how he could be retained when he was a defensive specialist and oversaw the worst defense in NFL history.

The real issue is getting a good GM that can not blow 5 picks in the first 83.
Phil Wenneck: The man purse. You actually gonna wear that or are you just fuckin' with me?
Alan Garner: It's where I keep all my things. Get a lot of compliments on this. Plus it's not a purse, it's called a satchel. Indiana Jones wears one.
