    Yahoo! Sports reports the Detroit Tigers have signed Jose Valverde for two years/$14 m.
    He's no Val Venis, but it's something.

    At least they haven't completely closed up shop.

    Valverde is a top 10 closer in the league, he doesn't have the command problems that Rodney has and his ERA was half of what Rodney's was last yr while pitching in a hitter friendly park in Houston.

    This was a perfect fit. Who cares about the draft pick, we finally have a legitimate, reputable closer.
