Anybody gonna check it out this week? I think I am going to head there on Sunday night.

I know you won't believe me, but the guy who managed this project for MGM is a friend of mine.

What a great place, and so close to the Lions stadium too that I went there after seeing a Lions game.

I was visiting some friends who live in an apartment right down the street - Jesus Christ, the traffic is a disaster.

In many cities you'd think that if they were going to put in a major tourism center, they would try to ensure that they had the civic infrastructure necessary to support it. Not here. Detroit considered this notion, and discarded it as impractical.

The fucking dealers in the poker room were trash. Constant messups, they left chips on the table, didn't know how to follow the blinds as people left/came back, misread cards, misread my chips, mistook 1s for 5s, tossed cards upside down, dealt people in who were out, tried to rake twice, messed up changing out a couple blinds, and twice allowed string bets, then wouldn't let me make one despite my announcing a raise and only putting enough chips down to call. I told the pitboss I wouldn't be back.

that's garbage. especially if you're calling a raise, you should be able to grab from your pile as you wish. bullshit. our home games aren't even that sloppy.

I used to go to Motor City quite often back when I lived in Farmington Hills (mostly because the 3rd floor was non-smoking).

They used to really struggle with breaking in new blackjack dealers.

We used to use that to our advantage. If you could spot them, you could raelly take advantage of the fact that they were struggling to count to 21 a lot of the time.

My buddy used to do a quiet "bust" cheer/whisper and a little fist pump when they would draw to 21 and many times they just assumed that they had busted.

Another friend tried to get me a job there in the pit. I told him hell no. In addition to the shitty hours (they need you there when they are busy, that's nights and weekends), I couldn't deal with all of the incompetence on daily basis. Well, at least not that much of it.
    Find a new slant.
