i havent played in a couple years... but i will take you down to china town. j/k. one thing that i've learned about chess is you have no idea how good you are. everyone claims to be 'kind of good'. i've absolutely blown people out of the water who are 'kind of good' but also have been killed by people who are 'kind of good'.

maybe if theres enough interest we could organize a board tournament on yahoo.

i used to be a tournament player. tied for state champ in 7th grade, but they didnt have any playoff system so based on my ranking i ended up with the 8th place trophy even though i beat the guy who got 3rd in the same tournament. go figure. 8th grade i had the flu the first day, 2 games, was making constant bathroom trips in the middle of the games which had to be supervised to make sure i wasnt getting tips. went 0-2 on that day, then went 5-0 the rest of the weekend and got 15th in state. my school won the state tournament in 7th and 8th grade and i was one of the 2 captains. nationals i got 27th and 30th. i havent played much for a few years, but havent lost since i stopped playing tournaments in middle school. 12 year winning streak lol. not the best competition though, ill admit that. im still a member of the uscf, but my ranking isnt that high because i only played ranked tournaments for 2 years and even though i had a high winning percentage i didnt play long enough to work it up, i think its 1500-1600. i did beat one chess master at a tournament in speed chess... i also played a grand master who was playing 7 other people. the grand master only ever stopped to think at my board, and said i was definitely the toughest game of the day and he knew there was a chance he might not win.

my chess game isnt nearly what it once was though, mainly because i forgot most of the openings.

we were some of the worst kids in school. we got to go to hotels for weekend tournaments. the teachers/coach figured, hey were the chess team no need to watch them. so at 10pm they said goodnight and we would bust out a bottle someone smuggled in. we got 5 min per channel of free preview porn. we'd run around and knock on doors, jack up pay phones, etc etc. hardly the nerd group lol we won tournaments hungover, cant beat that

I used to play some, haven't in a while.

I was at that spot where anyone who didn't play much got wasted by me, but anyone the least bit serious could waste me.
