Yep, it's a re-make.

And I want to hate it but this is kind of hard to ignore...

E! Online rated the pilot episode "on a scale of 1 to 10, we give it an 11. V is the best pilot we've seen in, well, forever."

And when have the good folks at E! Online ever led us astray?

I'm pretty sure V is roman numeral for the over/under on how many episodes the remake will go before it's cancelled.
