    LA experts - please help

I know a few of you live in the area. I am going on a cruise of the Mexican Riviera in March, and we are flying into LA a day and a half prior to cruising. Obviously I know that Disneyland is there, Hollywood, Universal Studious, etc there. I only have Saturday evening and Sunday morning/early afternnon in LA. I don't have time to see everything, so any suggestions? I doubt there is time for Disneyland, and I've alread seen Disneyworld anyway.

Also, any help with Hotel and Transportation suggestions would be nice too.

We are flying into LAX, and the dock is in Long Beach. So, I need to know a good place to get a hotel room that isn't in a ghetto, but also not a truckload of money. Anything cheap to decent price like a Holiday inn or something is fine, just not in a bad area.

    thanks.
Phil Wenneck: The man purse. You actually gonna wear that or are you just fuckin' with me?
Alan Garner: It's where I keep all my things. Get a lot of compliments on this. Plus it's not a purse, it's called a satchel. Indiana Jones wears one.

Fly into Ontario instead. Nice area with an assload of good hotels to choose from. When there, check out "The Beerhunter" in Rancho Cucomunga. Hundreds of beers on tap. Good times.

I don't have an option of where to fly into. That is where our flight comes in, and is booked. No choice. It's only 230 bucks a person round trip on Northwest, so I'm not messing with that deal.

I don't think I'll be going to any Bars or clubs in LA. I have a feeling I'll be doing enough drinking on the ship or in a Mexican resort town.

Chris, if you have AIM, this would be easier. I'm from LA, so I could certainly point you in the right direction. PM me.

Just head up PCH and hit Malibu. You may also want to look into catching a show or studio set while your out there. Those 2 things alone are worth it and will eat up your time.

Thanks for PM'ng me. I guess MSN or Yahoo will not work for you. I don't mind chatting here or via PM's, or if someone from LA has those.

    THanks.

Any thoughts on Hotel/transportation? As I mentioned I am flying into LAX and will ultimately have to be in long beach the next day for the boat. I could stay in that area, near the airport, or closer to downtown where we might do things. It just depends on whether I can get an airport shuttle, how much a cab might cost, if there are subways or that type of stuff there to utilize.

I imagine we'll spend our day and a half in the downtown to hollywood area anyway. the beaches might be nice, but we'll be doing that for a week anyway on the cruise. Might as well see something unique to LA while there.
