Condemned: Criminal Origins

I'm not a huge gamer so I require all of your expertise:

My girlfriend got me Condemned for my birthday and I'm torn as to whether or not I should keep it or take it back. I like Sci-Fi FPS like Halo, Half-Life and FEAR, but I'm not sold on this one.

Does anyone have it and/or played it? If so, how good is this game? The reviews have generally been pretty good, but I need some opinions.

If your TV has a good enough contrast ratio, the game can be fun and creepy. I tried playing it on the $187 HDTV/PC monitor I have in my bedroom, but the game's perpetually dark settings were too washed out for comfortable playing. Moving it to a better TV helped immensely.

I don't like FPS's and only barely choked through a full single-player game of Halo, but Condemned is tight. This game takes the concept of bashing in the skull of an addict with a crowbar to an artform. The few guns in the game aren't very fun to use, so you will need to be comfortable with your melee skills to enjoy this.

I would recommend this game.
