This is not the game I grew up watching.

I'm thinking of switching to college ball so I can see real physical play. I'm seriously over the NBA and their superstar riddled bullshit. They create superstars by changing the rules of the game to favor these douche-bags. If Wade played in the 80's that fucker wouldn't have been shit. Dumars would've abused the shit out of his no-jumpshot havin' ass.

"Ooooh, we changed the rules so scoring would go up like it used to be and the game will be so much more exciting!"

Translation: We're going to force everyone to watch freethrow shooting contests, because most NBA players today can't shoot for shit.

Every night you check the stats, somebody scored 40 points.

That used to make headlines back in the day. And NOBODY was fucking impressed if you did that shooting in the low 40% range.

And the sad thing is that most of these young kids who've only seen the post Jordan NBA, assume it's because today's NBA player is better than they used to be.

What a fucking joke.

I can now say in all honesty, that if the Pistons sucked, I wouldn't bother watching basketball anymore.

Call me old-fashioned, but this is not the competitve and amazing sport I grew up watching. This is fuckin Candyland.

May seem like I'm full of shit, but I was thinking the exact same thing today. I've been watching NCAA all week, then watched the Pistons tonight at 6. I remember thinking multiple times that a bunch of pansies were out on the floor as compared to college.

"Real" basketball is still played throughout the world, as highlighted by the shit-flying-from-our-pants bronze performance the '04 put out -- a team that shoulda, coulda wiped the asses of et al with 50 grit sandpaper and laughed all the way to the gold. But Americans don't play "basketball" anymore... we play "streetball". And why? Ratings, endorsement deals, players with the IQ of a fork and an ego the size of Montana, not as many iconic coaches who can flip off a player while chowing with the owners while telling the media to fuck off.

And the world is laughing at us.
