Thread: David Stern, when asked about better ratings in the Finals...

David Stern, when asked about better ratings in the Finals...

...said, "You're looking at one happy commissioner." It's in today's USAToday.

That's it, party's over. Turn the lights out. Basketball is officially a business and no longer a game. I read that as a near admission that corruption is going on in the NBA.

Good ride while it lasted though.

Let's hope for a Spurs sweep. The ratings have to be factored by the amount of TV time they consume. The Pistons/Spurs in 2005 actually achieved better ratings in many senses than the Heat/Mavs, simply because it went 7 games.

I agree. I hate Manu and Bowen, but I am pulling for a sweep too. Anything to end this King James shit is worth it. I'd root for the Pacers, the Kings (with Artest). This King James shit ranks up there with the Heat on my list of annoyances. The whole series with us was about nothing but James. No mention of our sucess, it's all about Lebron.
Phil Wenneck: The man purse. You actually gonna wear that or are you just fuckin' with me?
Alan Garner: It's where I keep all my things. Get a lot of compliments on this. Plus it's not a purse, it's called a satchel. Indiana Jones wears one.

Now that it's clear that Kobe is going to dig his own hole, the league's new heroes are Wade and Lebron. Wade, talent-wise, isn't really up to the task. So get ready for all Lebron all the time.

I'm guessing that Stern is also loving all of the foreign players in this series. (you know with his "global vision" and what not)

That global vision sure explains why the Spurs are ratings killer.

How are the ratings overseas, though?

    Jersey sales?

What little Argentinian doesn't want a Fabricio Oberto jersey or hair barrette?

    Sports Illustrated -
Game 1 of the NBA finals drew the lowest rating ever for an opening-game in prime time, dropping 19 percent from last year.
    Fuck you, Stern.

I'm starting to figure out the meaning of LeBron.
We are all witnesses, the few of us who bothered to watch.
