Whatever we may all feel about religion, I think we can all agree that anti-evolutionists are hilariously dumb.

Theodosius Dobzhansky once said, "Nothing in biology makes sense except in the light of evolution." Think about that for a moment.

Science as we know it today was invented by the ancient Greek philosophers. They argued amongst themselves about the nature of the universe. Is the universe a scary and unpredictable place, ruled by capricious forces? That view of the universe is Chaos. Or does the universe work according to forces that behave in orderly ways, producing results that could conceivably be predictable? That view of the universe is Cosmos.

We have science today because the ancient Greek philosophers decided that the best way to view the universe was that it is orderly and predictable. This motivated the great thinkers of the day to put their minds toward predicting the results of various phenomena, and they were able to do it. So science was born. As a result we have radio transmitters, inoculations, and Internet pornography. Science has validated the Cosmos view by producing consistently predictable results. Wherever it fails, it fails because of ignorance of phenomena that upon study, are also orderly and predictable.

The anti-evolutionists are trying to use the framework created by science to invalidate the entire idea that science is based on. They would rather see us go from being philosophically based in the idea that life forms change and develop predictably according to variations in genetics, to being based on the idea that God did everything, and how can we humans fathom why He does what He does? They want us to abandon science and return our view of the universe to Chaos. In doing so, they will undermine the entire foundation of science and return us to those dark days when humanity abandoned science altogether.
