Thread: 1995 Oscar for Best Picture - Redux

Pulp Fiction with its arm tied behind its back AND tim Robbins fucking it in the ass. I thought SSR was a yawner, as was QS. I liked Gump but like I like Rudolph or reruns of Growing Pains. Touching and funny, but not epic. 4waaf being included is like if Don Nickels got teamed with the rat pack.

    Thanks Glenn.
And back on track, what thinketh you all about John Revolta getting nominated for the Best Lead Oscar, and Jackson getting snubbed?

As my favorite auto mechanic, Mona Lisa Vito, might say about this poll: It's a TRICK QUESTION! The Academy didn't give awards to these movies till '95. Some of these movies didn't even come out until after the Academy Awards ceremony in '94.

Having said that, I'd give it to Shawshank in a heartbeat.

i got so into ssr the first time i saw it i damn near let my house burn down due to me negligently forgetting that i had left the stove on and in a bad situation. no fire, but when the movie ended, i noticed there was quite a bit of smoke on in the kitchen (which was the next room over). now THATS a sign of a good movie.

gump was the obvious choice for the win. (is that the beens?).

if i had to suggest one movie from the group, though, it would be pulp. the other two are great and all, but theyre more or less better versions of movies that are all over the place. pulp is something else.
