McFarlane's Spider-Man art rocked, no doubt!!!

The stories he actuall wrote were mostly iffy, because he was telling Spawn stories rather than Spider-Man stories. When he had other writers teamed up with him on Spidey, it worked out much better.

well maybe i enjoyed them because i am a spawn fan. i thought he did a great job writing on the Torment series that started off that new self titled spider man comic series.

also looking at she hulk. she could do a pretty tight R-Rated/similak heavy/diva fest movie with Titania as her arch nemesis.

covert all of that to movie format and get some genuine story/action in between. Then you'd have a hit.

though it got mixed reviews and was titled "secret wars 3" by some. Infinity gauntlet was a great series IMO.

Story Synopsis for those who aren't familiar.
THANOS, THE MAD TITAN, embarks on his most audacious scheme yet. In order to win the love of his mistress, Death, he intends to gain the ultimate power in order to slaughter half the population of the known universe. To do this, he procures the Infinity Gems, six gems of such unimaginable power that they give their holder the powers of God.

Naturally, this does not sit well with the heroes of the Marvel Universe. While Thanos casually erases half the universe from existence, the Silver Surfer races to Earth to find help from our heroes, especially Dr. Strange, the Sorcerer Supreme of this dimension. Meanwhile, the cosmic deities of the Marvel Universe -- Eternity, Order, Chaos and the like -- try to defeat this new addition to their pantheon with their own not-quite-omnipotent stores of power. Of course, they lose.

All seems lost until the heroes bring the attack to Thanos, and by the final issue the gauntlet is wrested from his hand. Unfortunately, it ends up on the hand of Nebula, Thanos's granddaughter and a woman who isn't above declaring herself omnipotent, either. Although she doesn't have quite the murderous intent of her grandfather -- she restores life to all those he casually slaughtered -- she is clearly not the heroes' first choice as the wielder of the ultimate power. She is defeated by the heroes with the help of a newly resurrected Adam Warlock, the cosmic adventurer who becomes the gauntlet's possessor in the end.

Warlock finds his perceptions and his consciousness raised to a higher level by the power he possesses, and while the heroes don't savor his new godhood, they also know there's not much they can do about it, either. Warlock sends the heroes home, and his final act in this story is to visit Thanos, who escaped after losing the gauntlet's power. Warlock finds him on an unnamed planet, enjoying the life of a simple farmer. Ironically, Thanos finds himself not missing the ultimate power at all, and does not envy Warlock the infinite responsibility that is now his to carry.

Damn! Great thread and many thanks to those discussing comics.

Gutz: I wish I had broadband but I still don't! I don't use the net enough anymore to justofy the cost (it ain't cheap here).

Still, appreciate the links and will things check out. I'm familiar with Miller and Moore and enjoy their work, so I guess I'll start with them.
