Not too many non-Tiger topics on this board so I decided to make one. Julio Franco became the oldest player to hit a homer yesterday; he'll be 48 in August. He broke a 76 year old record, not bad.

Some other records he has:

- Oldest player to pinch hit HR.
- Oldest player to steal a base.
- Oldest player to steal multiple bases in a game.
- Oldest player to hit a grand slam.
- Oldest player to have a multi-home run game.

It's pretty impressive for a person his age to be doing what he's doing. And it's not like he's been hanging around either. He's been a pretty good player to have at the end of the lineup since he can still hit and get on base. He also has 2,523 hits. One of the best physical specimens ever.

A true classic of the game. He's never been dominant but consistently excellent. He just keeps on going for the love of the game. At two different points in his career, no Major League team came calling. Most players would of just retired, but Julio went and played in the Mexican Leagues, not wanting to let the dream life he was living end quite yet. He also had stints in Japan and even South Korea.
