You people didn't try nearly hard enough. That Crasnick article was ESPN.com front page for about 6 hours. I expected more from you, Glenn.

We had subs. It was crazy.
I was distracted by the "TJ" in there.
Find a new slant.
That's not the first time you've been distracted by TJ.

Too bad TJ can't fool any batters.
Phil Wenneck: The man purse. You actually gonna wear that or are you just fuckin' with me?
Alan Garner: It's where I keep all my things. Get a lot of compliments on this. Plus it's not a purse, it's called a satchel. Indiana Jones wears one.
When is Peavy's contract up? Not saying he would come here, but holy shitzle would that make an unbelievable rotation.
I can't forsee us spending another dime on any more starting pitching. We still need a left handed bat, most likely at 1b, SS or 3b.
With Verlander and Bonderman making a boat load, we'll have Miller up here by next year too.
I'd sure like to see us sign another ace though.

We might be able to afford Mulder at least, lol.

All joking aside, I think it might be a nice move for the former Spartan. The chance to come home and resurrect your career for a contender. The guy is a potential ACE, but could certainly contribute as a 4th or 5th starter or even a bullpen guy. Maybe he would make a Smoltz move, who knows?Originally Posted by Glenn
Either way, Having him replace Maroth, Robertson, Ledezma, Rodney, Grilli or Jones would be wonderful.

Closing for the Tigs................ MULDER!!!!!!!
That could be interesting.
After further review, no Mulder as closer. His first inning of action is not his best. He's at his best around 2nd and third inning and then again from the sixth on. It's first inning and 4th and 5th that seem to shake him up a bit. Plus, his K/9 ration is mediocre. It's been going down for a few years and it's hovering around 5 for his career. To look within our division, Joe Nathan had 12.51 K's per 9 innings last season. THAT's what a closer is made of.
FWIW, if we go after Lidge, another guy worth trying to get from Houston would be Chad Qualls. Not too old, fairly good career numbers, brings some heat, certainly better than half of our pen.
