    Fantasy baseball discussion

    Had my main draft yesterday.

    10 teams
    30 man rosters
    rotisserie

    Hitting
    C I. RodrÃfudgeguez (Det - C)
    C M. Barrett (ChC - C)
    1B J. Thome (CWS - 1B)
    2B C. Figgins (LAA - 2B,3B,LF,CF,RF)
    3B Mi. Cabrera (Fla - 3B,LF)
SS É. RenterÃfudgea (Atl - SS)
    CI C. Jones (Atl - 3B)
MI O. Vizquel (SF - SS)
    IF H. Blalock (Tex - 3B)
LF B. Bonds (SF - LF)
CF W. Taveras (Hou - CF)
RF J. Burnitz (Pit - RF)
OF G. Anderson (LAA - LF)
    OF P. Wilson (Hou - LF,CF)
Util Mi. Sweeney (KC - 1B)
    Util C. Monroe (Det - LF,CF,RF)
    BN Y. Molina (StL - C)
    BN J. Encarnación (StL - CF,RF)
    BN T. Womack (Cin - 2B,LF,CF)
BN M. Murton (ChC - LF)

    Pitching
SP J. Peavy (SD - SP)
SP D. Willis (Fla - SP)
SP F. Hernández (Sea - SP)
    SP R. Dempster (ChC - SP,RP)
SP C. Capuano (Mil - SP)
RP M. Rivera (NYY - RP)
RP B. Wickman (Cle - RP)
    P K. Rogers (Det - SP)
BN A. Harang (Cin - SP)
BN C. Orvella (TB - RP)
I didn't want Bonds, but when he was there for me in the 11th round (106th pick overall), I just had to take him. I'm weak up the middle and in the outfield, IMO, and my bench is certainly nothing to write home about (which is often the case with rosters of this size).

I'm digging my pitching staff, especially my boy Peavy (if he can stay healthy). I grabbed Dempster only because he qualifies as a SP even though he's closing for the Cubs, allowing me to roll with an extra closer.

If we have any fantasy baseballers here I'd like to get your comments on my roster, and feel free to post yours as well.

    Your team sucks. j/k.

I am in the process of making trades, so I won't post mine yet. But I did pick up Young off waivers like last year. Then he hit 3 HR's opening day and I traded him to Jagrs and went on to win the whole league. lol. I don't think I got much from him though anyway.
Phil Wenneck: The man purse. You actually gonna wear that or are you just fuckin' with me?
Alan Garner: It's where I keep all my things. Get a lot of compliments on this. Plus it's not a purse, it's called a satchel. Indiana Jones wears one.

    first pick in 12th round.

And I hate my team. I have Prior and Burnett on the DL already. That's what I get for doing the Yahoo default rankings.

I am concerned with the pitching, some guys will have to have career years.

My main league goes on Saturday. It's our 7th year running, mostly with the same guys, so it's pretty competitive. Every dirty trick in the book has been pulled in this league. I can't wait but I am so unprepared this year. 14 teams, 22 rounds, so it's going to take forever.

It's a long day: I've got to do some last minute prep work tommorrow when I get up, draft's at 6:30 and then we all meet at the bars to argue over who has the best team.

The first month or so of fantasy baseball's the best, everyone still thinks they're going to win, there's no clear favorite yet, etc, etc. I wonder if me and my friends' employers have figured out the trend of productivity dropping like a rock this time of year every year because all we do is talk shit to each other on e-mail all day and watch day game box scores....

I'm reppin' Jesus Christ and Conservative views....

I hate my team (and I always think I have a good team):

    C J. Posada (NYY - C)
    1B R. Sexson (Sea - 1B)
    2B R. Canó (NYY - 2B)
    3B E. Chávez (Oak - 3B)
    SS J. Peralta (Cle - SS) -
OF M. RamÃfudgerez (Bos - OF)
OF J. Bay (Pit - OF)
OF A. Jones (Atl - OF)
    Util D. Young (Det - 1B,OF)
    BN M. Ensberg (Hou - 3B)
    BN P. Fielder (Mil - 1B)
BN B. Clark (Mil - OF)
    BN C. Biggio (Hou - 2B)

SP F. Hernández (Sea - SP)
SP B. Chen (Bal - SP)
RP D. Turnbow (Mil - RP)
RP K. Foulke (Bos - RP)
    P C. Sabathia (Cle - SP)
    P D. Davis (Mil - SP)
    P T. Wakefield (Bos - SP)
BN A. Burnett (Tor - SP) DL
BN C. Orvella (TB - RP) NA
DL M. Prior (ChC - SP) DL

I have already picked up 3 pitchers off waivers (Chen, Wakefield, and one for Orvella who couldn't even make the Devil Rays). Plus CC got hurt opening night too, so I will have three hurt pitchers at once. Thanks to Yahoo for drafting me a bunch of broken arms.

Chris, do you have another DL spot available for Sabathia?

Are you a Brewers fan or something? 4 Brewers?

I dumped Orvella too, and grabbed the Royals new closer. Now that is scraping the bottom of the barrel.

Thome got me off to a good start last night, though.

I have 4 starters going today, including my boy Peavy.

No, I don't even have a DL spot for Burnett. We only have one DL and I have 3 pitchers hurt, plus another I dropped. And no, I'm not a Brewers fan. It was an autodraft and I did the default rankings (I'm a casual baseball fan and don't think I could do a better job ranking them).

Last year I did autodraft too, but made a lot of trades and won too. I was hoping to do the same this year. but with the DL loaded up, I doubt I'll have any commodities to trade. you have to just wait it out and hope you aren't too far behind to catch up.
