BARRY RETIRES: Guard Jon Barry, whom the Nuggets had expressed interest in signing, is retiring.

"I've been banged up all year," Barry, 36, said. "I appreciate their offer, but I couldn't bring the type of energy and passion I've had for (14 NBA) years."

Barry, who played for Denver in 2003-04, was waived March 1 by Houston. The Nuggets then contacted him.
Jon Barry was at one time my favorite all time Piston (I've only been a fan since Isiah retired).

He still is right near the top.

Dude had energy and got the fans energized like no other bench player that I can remember. (Most here know that he was the founder/leader of the Alternatorz.)

Barry was a big part of the Pistons return to glory, I just wish he could have stuck around to get a ring.

It's unbelievable that Joe was able to get Barry AND a 1st round pick from the Kings for Mateen Cleaves. Just unreal.

He's looking forward to spending some time with his family, and I hope he enjoys it.

Great memories.
