  1. #21
I think everyone is racist in some way. To deny it would be lying.

    Word.

Also, the mere fact that this thread exists just proves that everybody has at least some racism in them.

to assume someone is a criminal (drug Dealer, hitman, theif or whatever) before they were convicted based upon their skin color is racism. Stereotypes are an element of racism but there is a difference.

For example you see a young dude get out of a fully loaded SUV wearing hip hop fashion. If he's white you think he's a spolied rotten rich kid who's parents bought him that stuff, and that's stereotyping, however it is not racism. If the guys black you assume he's a drug dealer, and that is racism. Why? because it's harmful, the white stereotype doesn't hinder the movement of white people but to mentally convict someone of a crime leaves someone restricted.

Also you guys say the Klan is racist, but then sprout off the same shit they say. The Klan doesn't really call for the murder of all black people, they get viewed that way but they don't try to kill every black dude in the world. They support seperating the races and murder is one of their ignorant solutions. They say that races were not meant to live together, and that blacks are of a criminal nature so they have no place in a white society. So if you assume every young black man with money is a drug dealer then you fall right in line with their ideology.

I don't follow your logic here.

How does Denny starting a racism discussion thread prove that everybody is racist?

    Find a new slant.

Hmm, no. Jumping to conclusions about a young black man with money is just simple prejudice. While distasteful, you'd have to get a lot more foul in both thought and action to graduate to Klan level racism. Throwing everyone into the same extremist category is counter-productive.

What the fuck is klan level racism? The Ku Klux Klan preach EXACTLY what has been said here!!! So if you don't burn a cross in someone's yard you aren't a racist now? Then most klansmen aren't racist either, because most of those bitches just sit around and run their mouths.

And how the fuck can assuming someone is a criminal because of their skin color be a simple prejudice? A simple prejudice would be 'he's black so i'm sure he can play basketball good' or 'he's asian so he must be good at math', but to assume someone's cultural heritage is crime... that's racist AND stupid.

The point, which you missed by a mile, is that there are degrees of racism. Starting at the very mildest where a person harbors some stereotypes and pre judges people based on them. Often times that springs less from hatred than from ignorance and/or fear and it can be mitigated by reason and interaction. Also, it doesn't matter whether the stereotype is positive (basketball) or negative (young, black and rich = drug dealer) it's the same thing.

At the other extreme is the Klan, adding a potent strain of hatred and fanaticism to ignorance and fear. Broadly stated, their agenda is to make white supremacy and seperatism the law of the land, enforced by violence, intimidation and terror. Even the ones that are just running their mouths are running their mouths about exactly those kinds of things and there's a hardcore element that would still do a lot more than run their mouths about it.

Lumping the two extremes together is just dumb.

Racism is "conditioned". It's a learned trait.

You can learn it from your 60 year old gramps. You can learn it from the media. You can even learn it from the race itself.

But, like everything learned, it can be unlearned. There is "choice".

    That's why it's so unacceptable.

When one sees a black man rolling in a hooptie Escalade with spinner rims and next-level sound system dialed to 11, I think to myself "that's so black".... only because 9 times out of ten a black man IS driving. That's not racist, that's assumption, just like how a beat up 1976 F150 with a gun rack in the back window and a labrador wearing a bandana around it's neck SHOULD have a redneck with a sweet mullet behind the steering wheel. More often than not, that's the case, so I ASSUME it's also the case this time.

The Lions are going to lose this weekend. Why? Because they more often than not DO lose. One is assuming based on past experience. If they win, great!

    But probably not.

Racism is not about past experience. Racism is about hate. The black man rolling in the Caddy I do not HATE. I'm merely stating that what he's doing is not unusual for a black man with wealth in Los Angeles, probably a black man in the entertainment or sports field. Stereotyping, sure. Hating, no. He's probably a very cool cat. It's an assumption born of repitition. I see it all the time.

There is different degrees of dedication to racism, Different believes of racism and different actions racists take. What dude said could have been straight out of a KKK pamphlet, and I'm not supposed to link it together because KKK is bad? THEN DON'T THINK LIKE KLANSMEN DIPSHIT!

A drug dealer is a criminal who gets locked up because he serves no purpose in society, he only harms it. This is why the Klan wants to isolate white people from other races, because they view blacks (and latinos and everyone else) as harmful and wasteful. that's the same thought process. If every black man with money is a criminal, then you're saying that every black man with money has no place in your society.

Also the shit you said ain't true. The KKK doesn't say they want run things by intimidation, terror and violence. Everytime some klan member does some stupid shit they disown him and say he doesn't represent the klan. They wouldn't be allowed to protest in front of countless city halls if their message was to beat/kill minorities. If they said that garbage they would be labeled a terrorist group and the government (that isn't actually KKK members themselves) would be chasing them down. They are assholes without question, but they aren't openly violent assholes.
