Thread: 72 wins is not realistic

    72 wins is not realistic

It would be nice, but they'd have to only have 5 losses in the second half of the season as well. I just can't imagine the Pistons keeping this type of execution up throughout the entire year. At some point, they have to lose more than one game in a row.

Think of how unrealistic it is to firmly believe any team can only lose 10 games in an entire season. 10 games in 82. Only 10 losses throughout, what, 5 West Coast trips? How many back-to-backs on weary legs?

I think the media is really doing the Pistons a disservice by continually thrusting 72 wins in their face. They're setting them up to fail. If they don't reach 70 wins now, we'll feel a little bit let down after having to hear about it all season long.

There is only one West Coast trip left (and its rather wimpy) unless you count one game in Minnesotta as a "trip".

There are a ton of back-to-backs left though (13 sets, or 26 games). Jan 31st - Feb. 8th is particularly harsh with 6 games in 8 days (3 consecutive back-to-backs seperated by one day each).

    It's well-known that MOLA's thoughts change outcomes.

    It is.

I was gonna start a "When will we lose two in a row?" thread, but I guess I won't.

Nor should it be a goal. We need to finish one game better than the second best team. We got to hope that SA, Dallas, PHX and Co can beat up on each other enough so we can cruise control near the end of the season to rest our guys - so not only will we have home court advantage, but we'll be well rested, while the others scrap to the end for play-off seeding.

As good as we have played, SA only has nine losses themselves, Dallas only ten. And we have three games on hand - so the best case scenario(no losses in those three extra games) means we only have four games up on the Spurs.

All homerishness aside, I don't think it's outlandish to think that this team will win 72 games.

It's all up to if they feel like going for it or not.

Can this team keep up this pace? That's some bullshit that fans of other teams say to make themselves feel better. We've only seen the beginning from this squad. We have a brand new coach, a whole new offensive scheme, and our bench players are just now beginning to click, and they're fuckin 30-5!!!

If you think you've seen the best of this team, think again.
