Well, it would probably be a good thing to talk in depth about a true NFL franchise on here.

That's fine. Just not the Steelers. The number of Pittsburgh fans in Michigan all of a sudden is sickening.

STEW BEEF!
And we're keeping it all in one thread that you never have to open.
Yeah, I'm just giving you a hard time. Your team is the champ, I'm sure you'll survive.
STEW BEEF!
Yeah, I hear you there, but that usually comes with the territory of winning the Super Bowl. All the bandwagon fans.Originally Posted by Fool
On the other hand, I was being serious about how the Steelers are the type of team that the Lions wish they had from the ownership on down.
Detroit needs a blue collar football team and they've been dealt nothing but hot, steamy shit for the last 50 years.
Oh, I'm not sure if I mentioned it on here or not, but my entire family is from the Pittsburgh are. My parents were from there and my grandparents, aunts and uncles, etc. are there. My brothers and I were born here in Detroit, but the roots are from Western PA.
The Steelers and Detroit sports have crossed paths yet again.
Chaz Batch to start Thursday night at QB for the Steelers.
Ugh.
Get him in your fantasy lineup ASAP (jk).
You know, Chaz isn't that bad on the Steelers. He played decent last year when he was called on. It's a huge blow to the Steelers that Robanger isn't able to go and Hines might not play, but it's not like Maddox is on the team anymore.
I do, however, think the Dolphins will win, but it's only week 1.
Bang, any word on who they might sign to play #2 QB? They took a big risk only carrying two and then Ben went down. I read over the weekend that Maddox is a possibility, as is Brian St. Pierre (both former Steeler QBs).Originally Posted by bangpow
I guess Bubby isn't available.
EDIT: Nevermind, they signed St. Pierre.

Since this is the first game at home since the Steelers won the Super Bowl, they're saying that the crowd is just going to be insane. Some are calling it a "mini Super Bowl" atmosphere. They've had all day to drink, too.
It will be nice to see some real football tonight, I hope the D can carry them to a win. Culpepper probably couldn't have drawn a worse first opponent. I hope he meets Troy Polamalu up close and personal.
