No wonder Bill Davidson doesn't care for him.
    wait a minute everybody??

in what naive world does someone rebuild the city w/o an agenda? as long as the agenda isnt to destroy the city i don't see the problem.

Dennis Archer tried to get alot of businesses out here(though the city council cockblocked him so much he said fuck it), and yes there was agenda in his efforts too. theres no such thing as rebuilding the city w/o getting your cut. As long as he can make good on the business he wants to build, he's entitled to run whatever politics he wants for his own sideline agendas.

agendas are only bad when its with people who want to get in a piece of shit temporary casino as opposed to one that brings tourism in like the ones in vegas, which is what the council did in their agenda..

and for the record those pizzas suck. i'd rather pay the extra dollar for the deep dish one.
Exactly. I'd rather have the corruption that cleans up the city (though places it in the hands of a few wealthy businessmen/evil capitalists) then the corruption that simply watches it rot.

yep, as far as tax dollars being spent. once again if he's bringing business to detroit i'm all for it.

maybe its easy to be snobby enough to say "take your businesses and shove it Ilitch" when you don't live in the city. but honestly its not like legitimate business owners are knocking down the front door of city hall to get their cut in on rebuilding detroit.

actually its kinda funny because the city council scared away alot of entertainment people by roadblocking all those casino amusement parks and the stoppage of the state fair race track didnt help(though the "politicians" said that it would be a noise issue for the people, i dont buy that).

All in all more power to the guy as far as im concerned. as much as i dont go i commend him for having the red wings in detroit though most die hard wings fans live in the suburbs. theres a level a business that comes with those games being in detroit.

honestly even if the actual city of detroit loved the red wings, it would be the suburbs at the games. Detroiters like football, but it's pretty much all suburbanites at the games.

The actual residents of detroit don't have much money. The only way to attain any wealth would be to get the money of those outside of the city in circulation. The Wings do that rather well, it's just not enough.

i'd accept it over a motor city casino.

are you assuming that was the only option for a nice casino? because that isn't true.
