This is the original Ardent Records 45 version of "September Gurls" from 1974. It was mastered by Larry Nix at a different date than the RADIO CITY version, using varispeed technology, making this cut a few seconds shorter, quite a bit punchier and in a higher key. Alex Chilton's vocals offer up even more adenoidal urgency on this master, which was dedicated specifically for the airplay "September Gurls" never received (beyond a few markets) upon its initial release...

Bought tickets for Those Pretty Wrongs a month or so ago, whenever it was announced....was totally on the fence about going, leaning toward no but I just started listening to the album and it's actually pretty good. Not Big Star good by any means but I thought it would be terrible...it's not...
I tried getting into that once before, maybe I'll try again.
Unrelated note, Alex's son posted something a while back that said that Alex was a big 'Law & Order' fan. I can't decide if it's cool that I know that now or I wish I didn't. Kinda regret knowing that.
