Thread: Pistons/Raps deal

  1. #11
Or I think they can move DeRozan to SF... or I think they can get that SF through the Draft...

Essentially they swap Bargnani for Stuckey as all the other players are expiring and will be leaving their current teams anyway. Sure the theory is that you need to get quality players for your expirings but that assumes anyone else is willing to give up quality to rent a player for a few months.

Bargs has a worse contract than Stuckey so if the Raps didn't wanna do this fuck 'em!

what exactly are the piston's doing this trade for?
so we can pay bargs a shitload of money to lose games?

To get a do-over on Prince and Stuckey's contracts, get a starting-quality PG that can either be re-signed to back up Knight at a lower salary or used in a S&T for another asset, and to get a developing, young lottery-talent stretch big that needs a change of scenery?

Ok. I just don't value bargs nearly as much. actually, I view him as a negative and I would want no part of him. I would rather have prince.

Bargs off the bench wouldn't be that bad... certainly would help spread the floor for Monroe and Drummond when he was on the floor...

and we get Calderon! Dude might be 32 or whatever but he knows how to run a fucking offense!

I can see Bargs being the Memo we couldn't keep.

we would get half a season of calderon.
we would be stuck with bargs for 3, and he makes a shitload of cash.
    i really don't like it.

I'm assuming we'd keep Calderon beyond his current contract

You're assuming we wouldn't keep Calderon beyond his current contract

You're also assuming Bargs would suck as a Piston

You're also assuming that we will sign "better" players than Bargs and Calderon this off-season

The group of players available as free agents isn't all that impressive... getting Bargs and Calderon with our space wouldn't be too bad

    Drummond/Monroe/Slava
    Monroe/Bargs/Jerebko
    Prince/Singler/Jerebko/Middleton
    Draft/Stuckey/English
    Knight/Calderon/Stuckey

Bargs and Calderon isn't what I would want with all our cap space but it's better than most of the shit available in free agency...

then again this is just an idea.... not a great one but certainly not a bad one.

Personally I prefer the Rondo and Gay and Drummond scenario

bargs would be getting over 10 million to come off the bench.

the pistons could sign calderon after this season and not trade a damn thing for him.

even outside of rondo and gay, there is still better options to trade for than bargs.

You mention better trade options.... who? what? where?

I'm a little bit isolated here in OZ...

other than the Cousins stuff I haven't read any trade rumours for the Pistons
