BYC has been eliminated... Tay can be moved at anytime... not a bad trade chip.

Were there other teams wanting to pay Tayshaun more than the MLE?
well the clippers wanted him and they were only willing to offer a 1 year deal, so....
How the fuck is he a good trade chip?
He's got a 4 year contract!
I don't think too many teams will be lining up to trade for him...
Rise like Lions after slumber,
In unvanquishable number -
Shake your chains to earth like dew
Which in sleep had fallen on you -
Ye are many - they are few.
i still dont like giving a 31 year old SF 27 mil for 4 years when you're a lottery team and got contracts like Gordon, Charlie, Max still here, but it makes a little bit more sense now that RIP is gone
Look at this as a positive. Keeping the same roster is the best way to ensure we get a top lotto pick next year, which represents the ONLY way we will ever get a superstar.
we had a big hole at SF, Daye was the only other SF on the roster
for once i agree with Joe D you can't have a roster full of youngsters, you dont want to be the Minnesota Timberwolves, Tay still can play, he was the best SF available - its not like we had a borderline allstar ready to replace him. Our Cap is fucked up anyway the next 2 seasons, paying RIP, Gordon, Charlie, Max - but i think Tay is worth 7 mil a year - still i'd rather let him go, let Daye play 30 min a game and sign some backup SF for the minimum.
I'm not seeing the "big hole at SF".
I'd rather roll with Jerebko and Dye to see what we have there (and to accellerate the re-build) than tie up all that jack in 4 more years of Prince. He'll either be crippled or ineffective by the time we're fielding a good team again. So for now, he'll gripe and block our young players' development.
Singler will be finished overseas in 8-10 weeks as well if we want to go that route. Hell, we could have even given Summers a training camp invite for depth.
