    Others' Cap Space and Exceptions

    EXCEPTIONS
Atlanta Hawks can take Will Bynum.
Cavaliers have a TPE (14.5) from LBJ large enough to take Rip, Tay, Gordon, Villanueva, Maxiell, or Bynum, and in combinations further described in the Minnesota cap space section.
This means we also have a ton of leeway with Toronto (14.5), and then a little with Phoenix (5.74).
Houston has 6.32 which means they can take Bynum or Maxiell.
    The Pacers can take Bynum.
The Hornets can take Maxiell or Bynum.
The Jazz can take Maxiell or Bynum.

    REMAINING CAP SPACE
The Cavs are under the cap enough to take Bynum or Maxiell.
The Clippers are under the cap enough to take Bynum, maybe just missing the mark to take Maxiell.
Minnesota is under the cap by around 13 million, enough to absorb Rip, Tayshaun, Gordon, perhaps Villanueva+Maxiell, definitely Villanueva+Bynum, Villanueva alone, Maxiell+Bynum, Maxiell alone, and Bynum alone.
The Kings are under by around 14 million, enough to take the same combinations of players that Minnesota and Cleveland are (except they can definitely take Villanueva/Maxiell).

Since the Cavs can both absorb contracts AND use their TPE, we should be calling them everyday to get involved in a trade.

Would you guys take back Davis and a lotto pick for Prince/Bynum?
    Davis/Stuckey
    Stuckey/Gordon
    Daye/McGrady
    Monroe/Villanueva
    Wallace*/Wilcox

your posts are a mess. In that first post does it say anywhere how long Davis' contract is? Depending on that, I'd be for it.

For instance, with the Cavs we could give up Tay/Wilcox for Hickson/Powe.

Davis' is for 3 years at 13 million this year. Right now the Clips have the 9th worst record.

You can expand it to Davis/Gomes for Prince/Bynum/Maxiell.

    Davis/McGrady
    Stuckey/Gordon
    Daye/Gomes
    Monroe/Villanueva
    Wallace/Wilcox*

hrm. That's still quite a bit.

Would that make him and Rip expire at the same time?

And Gordon and Villanueva, too, although those are player options. If we can endure the suck until then, maybe we'll have some nice lottery pieces and a ton of cap space. lol

Yeah that's what I am thinking, planning on surviving the worst case scenario between our contracts and the new cba.

Of course there are a lot of ways we can go, but that deal nets us immediate savings.
