It would certainly stabilize the ownership situation of the Pistons.Ilitch didn't rule out buying the Pistons or the entire Palace sports empire, but indicated they are more focused on their existing business.
"We've got two great sports teams, we've had an incredible assortment of business. This is a lot of work, a lot of opportunities which we have,'' Ilitch said. "We're very focused on our Detroit Red Wings winning hockey games and our Detroit Tigers winning baseball games, selling Little Caesars Pizzas. I would say we're focused on our existing businesses and we'll go from there. It's tough to say at this point (whether there is interest in the Pistons).''

Before he was out, he was part of the brain trust shopping for buyers -- the only non-Davidson rep, along with Davidson's wife, son, son-in-law, and private attorney.I thought he was 'out', so how can he be a part of the brain trust shopping for buyers? Or did they retain him just for that?
I should attempt to respect his accomplishments more.
