You know I'm gonna post a lot of trades before the deadline so i thought i'd keep 'em all in one thread:

BOS/DET = We get Ray Allen they get Tay/Daye/Rip lol

CHI/DET = We get Tyrus Thomas they get Kwame (all about the cap hold)

CLE/DET = We get Big Z they get Nova and Kwame (or Tay by himself)

DAL/DET = We get Dampier/Howard they get Tay/Rip/Kwame

GSW/DET = We get Biedrins/Ellis they get Tay/Rip/2010 Pick

HOU/DET = We get McGrady/Andersen they get Rip/Tay/Nova

IND/DET = We get Murphy they get Tay/Daye

LAC/DET = They get Tay/Daye we get Camby/Skinner

LAL/DET = We get Morrison + their 2010 picks they get Kwame/Daye

MEM/DET = We get Thabeet/Hunter/Arthur they get Wilcox/Daye/Kwame

MIA/DET = We get Cook and a 2nd round pick they get Chucky/Summers

MIL/DET = We get Gadzuric/Bell/Future Pick they get Tay

I'd do it to clear those two contracts. Aren't winning now, might as well clear space for another asset.

I really don't care for Thomas at all.

Could we get them to take RIP?

I might do this as it clears RIP a year early, but would there really be any bigs in 2011 (all seem to be FA's this year).

I don't think I do this. Not a fan of Ellis really (too many combo guards in that situation here. Not enough basketballs)

Why would they want two SF's with Granger?

I would for the pick. Curry/Jeffries expire in a year anyway. THey might do it for that extra 7 mil in space too.

That NY one intrigues me a lot. I hadn't thought of that. My goal has been to move Tay/RIP to clear cap space. Maybe we should be sending our expirings to NY like you did here on order to get another great pick. That way we can simply let those contracts run out (or trade them next year for more assets), while building around our young guys and picks.

Favors and Aldridge would be pretty nice up front. Would give you pretty good odds on Wall too.

WTFChris, I like the Ellis/Biedrins deal as long as our pick is lottery protected. Both are signed through 2014. That means our core for the next 4-5 years (assuming we extend Stuckey and Jerebko continues to be a solid hustle guy and gets extended) is:
Stuckey/Ellis
Gordon/Ellis
Daye/Jerebko
Villanueva/Max
Biedrins

Plus our pick.

The big downside to this is that when you give Stuckey an extension, you've got $25-30m tied up in combo-guards that are better suited to play SG. Otherwise, that's a pretty solid young core.

I ain't gonna go into long winded explanations for all of them so far but...

Dampier and Howard = expiring due to contract clauses.

Cardinal and Blount = expirings

Apparently positions mean shit in Indy and Granger plays all of them

LAC = no playoffs = should get something for Camby before he bolts

MIA deal = we trade nothing to acquire nothing and a 2nd round pick

MIL = Lottery bound for a while IMO so steal a pick from them

NJ - we give up Bynum and crap but get Terrence Williams, Courtney Lee, a pick (and Dooling) = good job by Joe IMO

NO = never better than borderline playoff team due to cheap ass owner means their pick is right in the middle of the first round. That's a good pick, even if it costs us Kwame and Daye.

New York? When was the last time they made the playoffs? I'm banking on them being out of the 'offs for 2 more season - that's it. If we could turn Tay/Kwame into a likely Lotto pick and the soon to be expirings of Curry and Jeffries then we should do it! The fact those 2 expire next off-season would make Joe king again - if only for another day

Gotta go through the rest of the league but due to the amazing response I might leave it for a while

The only thing that makes me leery of the NY pick is that we'd have to wait another year for it. It's not out of the question for them to sign two big FA's, even if it's not James. No reason they couldn't get Amare and Joe Johnson (both flourished under D'Antoni before).

I'm not sure that Johnson/Gallinari/Chandler/Hill/Amare with Curry/Jeffries off the bench can't make the playoffs in the east. Plus they'd have Curry and Jeffries as expiring deals that they could move next year and improve even more. Say Washington gets nothing done this year and still needs to shed salary. They could easily take on Butler or Jamison. Lots of possibilities to improve with 18 mil in expiring money.
