I'm not sure I can see why GS does this...

The idea for them is that they get cap relief pretty quickly.

Apparently that's desired by most every team.

But since we've got guys like Rip, BG and Nova I feel we're pretty close to being a contender if we could add the right pieces without giving those 3 away.

Being a contender and being a legit title hope are 2 different things though. I don't see us being a legit title hope for a very long time.

Last month, there was a lot of chatter about the Warriors looking to deal, and deal a lot. But beyond cutting Mikki Moore today, the Warriors have been quiet on the transaction front.
But there could be a reason for that. According to ESPN's Chad Ford, the Warriors are looking to dump Corey Maggette's albatross of a contract (he's owed around $10 million a year for the next three seasons after this one), in conjunction with someone like an Anthony Randolph, and that could make it hard to swing a deal.
Ford writes in his chat today that Randolph is not likely to be dealt "unless the Warriors can get a team to take Maggette's contract too."

We asked ESPN's Ric Bucher for his take:
"Sources say they continue to shop Corey Maggette and are willing to throw in Anthony Randolph to shed Maggette's contract and land a scoring big man. But their issue isn't personnel; too many players simply don't believe in the team's leadership. Maybe that would change if they landed Chris Bosh, but that's what it would take."
Phil Wenneck: The man purse. You actually gonna wear that or are you just fuckin' with me?
Alan Garner: It's where I keep all my things. Get a lot of compliments on this. Plus it's not a purse, it's called a satchel. Indiana Jones wears one.

They're looking for a scoring big man.

Nova is the only dude we have that fits that bill.

Would we really wanna do that (Nova + ? for Maggette and Randolph)?

    I wouldn't.

If it was Prince for Maggette and Randolph? Sure, I'll take the chance.

But I'd rather try to work a 3-way deal and land a big man.

Off the top of my head:

We land Brand and Maggette (gonna be screwed cap-wise with Brand anyway)

Philly would get Randolph, Kwame and some filler with short contracts

    GSW would get Prince

    We be:

    Ben/Brand
    Nova/Max
    Mags/Jerebko
    Rip/BG
    Stuckey/Bynum

    Or some such shit

I'm pretty sure I threw out about 7-8 different deals that brought us Biedrins this summer. I never thought they'd deal Randolph before him.

Randolph is likely done for the season so any thoughts of getting Biedrins or "The Dolph" are probably dead and buried like our fucking season

wouldn't it help our chances of getting randolph? maybe they think they can actually compete for a playoff spot.

Who would we wanna give up for Randolph now that they'd accept?
