Thread: Pistons/Gortat

It might be a great fit basketball-wise but we're talking about them taking Hamilton's contract.

Does anyone think Orlando would do it, given Rip's contract and their tax situation?

Absolutely not. They want to change things up and Vince hasn't been a good fit, but he's an expiring contract next season that they'll be able to turn into another valuable asset or let walk. They're not going to take on the extra years of Rip's deal. As much as it's about the chemistry and on-court fit, basketball is a business.

C Marcin Gortat recorded a career high in scoring, tallying 25 points, the first 20-point effort of his career. Gortat has now scored in double-figures in a career-high-tying three straight games for the second time in the last 11 days, something he had not done once previously in his career. Gortat had a grand total of two 16-point games in 175 NBA games before joining the Suns. He has now scored 16 points or more five times in 19 games the Suns, including his career-high Sunday. Gortat has scored in double-figures 11 times in 19 games with the Suns after putting up 12 career double-digit scoring efforts in 175 games previously.

Weird that Vince & Gortat went on to be traded together for a SG and a SF (JRich & Hedo).

Has Hedo done anything back there?

He's putting up 12/5/6 for them per36. He's not putting up the shot attempts or free throws that he got while a star for Orlando. His 3PT% has dropped slightly, his FT% has dropped a lot, but his FG% is on par.
Seems like he just needs to get to the line more often and to get his stroke back.
