Not if broadband providers get their usage cap instituted.

Blockbuster announced that they are closing about 25% of their stores (like 1000 of them)

Between redbox and netflix it's hard to see blockbuster still in business five years from now.

I rarely have a need for anything "now" that isn't satisfied by Netflix's "watch it now" over the Interweb

Few people have a computer integrated into their home TV setup and watching a movie on the little screen at the computer desk isn't quite the same, especially if you're watching it with other people.

I think until there's an internet streaming set-top box that's as commonplace as the dvd player or cable box most people have hooked up to their TVs, that's not going to be a first choice for most people.

I get a couple discs at a time in the mail, in addition to "watch it now". I'm not limited to the computer if I plan ahead. As a totally non-hypothetical example, I know that I'm gonna have some older folks in this weekend, so Gran Torino and Confessions of a Shopaholic are queued up to ship on Thursday/Friday.

I'd rather take two trips to the mailbox to get/return a video than two trips to some commercial outlet with a Redbox.

The appeal of Redbox is that they are already at places you go to; grocery store, gas station, Starbucks, etc.
