Netflix is worried about Redbox, surprisingly enough. I don't get the appeal. I'd rather take two trips to the mailbox to get/return a video than two trips to some commercial outlet with a Redbox. And that's only assuming I can't watch it online instantly.

I haven't been to a video store in 3 years. We get all our movies from Redbox already (they have quite a few out here). My only complaint is the lines can be long sometimes.

Netflix is great, but sometimes you feel like a certain movie at that moment (not a couple days prior). At some point I want the new blue ray players with Netflix downloading.

Though I probably will not use Redbox much either, the last 2 times I've subscribed to Netflix, I've wound up watching a lot the first few weeks and then sitting on the same movies for 2-3 months before finally canceling.

It's great if you sit at home and watch DVDs constantly but a lot of people go more in phases....3 movies one week, 2 movies the next, none for 2 weeks after, one the week after that, 4 the next week, none for 3 straight weeks after that....

I just can't get into daily fees, and I rarely have a need for anything "now" that isn't satisfied by Netflix's "watch it now" over the Interweb. Their 2-at-a-time plan seems like it works for me and my habits.

All physical media like DVD's and CD's is going to die due to the internets eventually. That means redbox will die too.

I don't see the documentary "Smithsonian presents: Great American Mahogany Woodcutters of the 19th Century". Therefore, I'll have to pass on Redbox.
