We supported both repressive "terroristic" governments that we eventually overthrew. We supported them as they committed the murders of those innocent women and children you speak so highly of. We removed Saddam's government off the terrorist lists so they could acquire the weapons from western governments (including ours) to gas the Kurds. Hell, we even provided them with anthrax. We encouraged the Iraqi people to rise up and take their own government, then didn't enforce our no-fly zone so Saddam could blow away his opposition. We're the ones who liked and supported the mujahadeen when they helped stick it to the Soviets, as they morphed into the conservative stick-it-to-women terrorist harboring Taliban.
