Thread: Do We Retain Sheed or AI?

  1. #21
...he could have gotten more money and more years if he had a repeat of 2007.

The idea that him tanking his last season at age 34 is maximizing his contract status is beyond ridiculous.

He's not tanking, he's just not going 100%.

And who would have given him more money than the MLE this summer if he had a good 2008/09, as you referenced in post #21?

LOL that's the very definition of tanking...

First off, he would have gotten more YEARS, and thus more MONEY.

He's not getting more years, owing to the over-35 rule in the CBA.

    Tanking is losing on purpose.

Playing careful and tentative because you've got your paycheck on your mind is not losing on purpose.

I don't think he WANTS to lose (again, that's tanking), he just doesn't want to play in a manner that might make him vulnerable to injury.

Playing careful and tentative is a lame excuse for "not trying." It's no different than simply not trying. it doesn't matter if he wants to lose or just doesn't care.

Do we retain water or gas?

Any way you look, it's a retentive move.

    HELL NO.

I'd be willing to keep Sheed but only for an EXTREMELY cheap deal. I mean, like no more than half of the MLE. And not even that, if it gets in the way of signing a free agent this summer.

The top priority should be getting good and young talent in our big men spots.

Its just time for him to play elsewhere. He's too comfortable with the Pistons. He'll have lack of motivation and that spreads.

I think at this point, Sheed on this team for a dollar is too much.
    Players meeting my ASS!
