Wiz any comments on the quality of teams they played on? Kiper just rips the line for Stafford as an example. I'm not sure about Stanton.

Stanton threw a lot of short passes, IIRC.

I would think the quality of team and conference would just even out. You can't tell me that State had more talent in 05' than Georgia did this year. Bottom line is they did about the same with what they had.

Stanton has no future in this league as a starter. Stafford would be a reach at #1.

I vote Daunte Culpepper, Matt Cassel, or Derek Anderson.

Regardless of Staffords status as a #1 pick, he had the much better season. As we have seen from numerous bowl games, SEC defense>>>>>>Big Ten defense

Here's my question (keep in mind that I don't like either of them and I'm not interested in making a case for either one).

If their production, when compared as similarly as possible, is fairly close and one of them is already on the team, why in the hell would we burn the #1 pick on the other?

So Jethro, you're saying bring in a vet, give Stanton one more year to prove something, and then go for a QB next year if he doesn't?
