since December 2006, apparently the warranty is 'expired' according to the xbox live website, even though I've had it for less than 3 years..

i bought it brand new, too

did you know that 66% of all X-Box 360's will need to be repaired at least once within 3 years of purchase.

That's astonishing. So when you buy it, Microsoft basically tells you there is a 2 out of 3 chance that it will fail.

I took my third red ring of death xbox and traded it in to gamestop and got a ps3. Best thing I ever did.

Also, do they check, when you trade it in, to see whether or not it is working?
