Has anyone been listening to the stories about the Prezs or former Prezs as Bush is today? I heard some on Ike, Regan, etc.

They go from being the most powerful person in the world to a citizen.

Every second of the day Bush had to be at the ready for any problems in the entire world...even this morning. And now, later today, he could get blasted on martinis with no worries.

The power isn't an analog thing, its digital. 100% on, 100% off.

It just seems weird.

That's only partially true. As soon as the election takes place the sitting President starts having to take the future President into consideration in regards to the actions he takes. He still technically holds all the governmental power but as a political office the power starts to diminish even before the election (as their actions harm or help the candidate of their party).

Another point raised by someone...forgot who...said its not the opening of the gates and doors but they go from getting daily briefs on everything that happens in the world and tomorrow, no info at all.
