Iverson's game is very much isolation. He can beat almost anyone off the dribble. It opens up the lane for people to slash in and get some easy buckets. However, the only one that will benefit from that is Amir, as he will be getting the garbage points.

Sheed, love him or hate him, is a guy who likes to take his time in the post, making fadeaways or other post moves. Or he sits outside and chucks 3s. This will not benefit him.

Rip loves to come off screens and hit midrange shots. He is most effective on curls. Iverson will not help with his game.

Tay is also a guy who is best with his back to the basket. He will only benefit by getting more three point attempts.

And let me say this: I like Allen Iverson's game. I like him as a player. He's the quickest player in the NBA since Isiah. But I don't like him for this group of Pistons.
Rips screens and curls create lanes, these are the lanes that Billups has be unable to go through for years, and the same lanes that given to Iverson (and to stuckey) are routinely exploited helping both the PG and SG. If Rip is closed out that means Ivo can drive, and vice versa.
    Hype?

I think we should hold out on the Dice appreciation thread, FWIW.

I don't think a lot of cap space is something to get all that excited about, by the way. As I mentioned, Dumars and Billy D don't like to spend a lot on one player. I don't think anyone of substance will come here. That might not be a big deal, as that's how the 2004 team was built, but don't expect a big free agent signing in 2009.

it would definitly be a better move if Dice gets bought out and we resign him after that month period...still i can't imagine AI and RIP working well in the backcourt...plus the FA class of '09 suckz! its basically Boozer and Memo and that's it

I hope this trade doesn't hurt the development of Walter Sharpe.

I wonder what prompted that comment?
