Anybody got a decent Z-Bo deal for the Pistons?

It's rumored that the Pistons are "keeping an eye on" Zach Randolph.

He's got an awful contract, no doubt, but he can score in the post if he's motivated.

Unless Joe would be willing to unload Chauncey and his contract, that probably means Sheed would be going to NY.

Of course, giving up a valuable expiring deal for a bad contract doesn't work, unless the Pistons can also get some young talent (David Lee?) and a good pick or two as well.

Anybody want to take a stab at it?

Here's one scenario, we'd need at least a 1st rounder + $3m cash from the Knicks to even it out a bit more.

Of course, Lee is going to want a big new contract, too.

Did Herrmann get 1 or 2 years?

I don't think you can trade players that sign a one year deal.

No reason to deal him for a starter. He + his contract< and Piston starter and theirs.

Herrman got a 1 year deal, hmm..then you can't deal Kwame too because his 2nd season is a player option?

I think that counts as a two-year deal, the second year being at the player's option.

Which might be a better explanation why they did it that way.

I'm inclined to agree, maybe a third team could get involved?

I can't see the Knicks wanting three bench players for Randolph, they already have too many guys. Not to mention that we really don't have the salaries on the bench to make this work, especially since Dice would likely retire rather than go back to the Knicks (who wouldn't?)

If the Knicks had a really good young PG, maybe Chauncey wouldn't be so far fetched, but I think we could get a lot more out of Denver or Portland for Billups than we could get from the Knicks.

Am I the only one that doesn't really want him? He doesn't play defense. Ever.

So Randolph is Ben Wallace on the other side of the court. We won with Ben...

    Is this good logic?
